Gibson 72556.32RM Essex 32-Piece Dinnerware Set, Black/Cream

This is a decent starter set - say for someone setting up a new or first place. For the price, and read the description carefully. One should not be expecting super high end fancy dinnerware and flatware. This is basic daily use stuff. It arrived quickly and well packed - nothing damaged. I wanted real dinnerware (trying to do away with plasticware and paper plates). It will be perfectly fine for me as a single person. I thought the tumblers might be plastic but they are glass - that was nice to discover. One thing - the silverware is smallish. The spoons are teaspoons, and the forks salad forks. Doesn't bother me but some may not appreciate that size. Also the coffee mugs are rather small too - about 8 oz. Might be good for when you have visitors, but if you enjoy a HUGE mug of joe or cuppa tea in the morning, you'll probably want to use something else. Overall, I am quite satisfied and it will fulfill my basic daily needs.

You get what you pay for. This is a nice set of thick, heavy dishes, but the cups are a little wimpy, the coffee mugs are nearly non-existent, and the silverware is okay. This was exactly what I needed when I started college, and I'm not complaining one bit. It's just nothing to write home about. :)

Bought this as my first set of dinnerware for a new apartment, it's been an alright so far. It's visually pretty appealing, although the edge trim that looks solid in the picture is actually a bit smeared and streaky, almost like they applied it unevenly on a pottery wheel or something that rotates.Utensils are ridiculously small, at least compared to the sizes I'm used to using as a guy, and UPS' carelessness on delivery got one of my bowls and glasses smashed. Despite my gripes, it's not a bad set to buy, but I'd recommend buying it in a store if I could find it locally. Price also seems a little high for what I actually got.

I have got some of the items damaged. Especially the spoons/forks are not so good.The plates, glasses and the cups are ok though.

Got this for someone getting ready to move out as a starter set. Looks like in the picture, nothing was broken and it got to my house within a week. I gave it four stars because I don't like the way the style of silverware, in my experience it tends to fall apart quick. But since this is just something to keep her going till she is settled it should be fine. The important parts (plates, bowls, cups) all look great and sturdy.

I have ordered 2 set,one just arrived,the other set stated on the way.The plate and bowl are good,the mug is like tea cup size,the fork,spoon and knife Protection material not smooth,can see that it will came off eventually,this is a gift for my son.
