A great wireless keyboard/mouse combo
I have several of these... at home, at the office, and use them daily. Being a geek with multiple computers, I've used a lot of keyboards over the years, and I've been through countless wireless combos looking for one that works consistently and reliably. This combination is easily the best I've used to date.First of all, the keyboard takes up minimal space on the desktop. The keys are full-sized, but there's no wasted space as there is on so many other keyboards. Some additional functions keys, like a Sleep button, Volume Mute and Raise/Lower buttons, and Play/Pause, Reverse, Forward buttons are included. The top row of function keys are half-sized, but I don't find that to be a problem. The keyboard has a great touch for those of us who are speedy touch typists, and the keys are designed such that dust, crumbs, and whatever else comes along doesn't fall into the keyboard. I understand it is also spill resistant... I can attest to that; minor spills have no impact and can easily be wiped off without damage to the keyboard. Major spills are another thing... the reason for this purchase is because I managed to dump a full cup of coffee directly onto the keyboard. That killed it, needless to say.The mouse part of this combo is nice... left and right buttons, plus a scroll wheel that also serves as an additional button. The mouse is comfortable to hold, is optical and requires no pad on non-reflective surfaces. Low batteries are indicated by a light on the mouse, and changing them is simple. The wireless portion of this setup involves a tiny USB receiver that plugs into your system. There are no extra drivers required, no CD's to install, and no pairing to consider. Out of the box, you can plug in the receiver and turn on the power buttons on the mouse and keyboard, and after booting the first time they're ready to go. I've not had any problem with distance, interference or such issues. My system sits on the floor under my desk, and I have no problems with connectivity. I've used this combo with several different systems, including non-Dell systems, with no problems.Battery life on both devices is excellent... I use my keyboards daily, and typically the 2 AA batteries last at least a year. With the mouse, I tend to change them every 6 months. I do not turn off the power on either device.Again, for those looking for a good, reliable and comfortable wireless keyboard combo, this is it. I have no hesitation with this recommendation. I have 6 of these combos in use currently, and the only one I've replaced is the one upon which I spilled coffee.

Don't waste your money
The mouse never worked properly from day one, jittery and problematic connections. Keyboard is ok. Less than two months into owning it (and now not returnable) the mouse stopped working entirely.

Wish there was a 4.5 star
5 stars for the keyboard. Very touch sensitive, easy to read. The letters were worn off the one that came with the computer so this was a great replacement. The mouse is a bit stiff, less touch sensitive. Since I tend to rest my hand on the mouse a lot, this is not necessarily a bad thing for me. My old mouse hand the ability to enlarge the writing on the screen and this one doesn't. I miss that but al in all I'm quite satisfied.

it's a Dell of course you're going to like it!!!
hello! i have been buying dell product for a long time and this is a good one! i love this keyboard! it is very light and thin but it has all that you would need like volume control keys such as mute, volume down and volume up. and also for music or video. back, pause and skip! and what i find the best is the computer sleep button that is a moon. and for people that have windows 7 laptop or desktop this WILL work for you tho the windows key is the new windows 8 logo it still does work with windows 7!!i have tested this on my dell precision-m3800 which came with windows 8 but i have downgraded to windows 7 pro and the keyboard and mouse have worked fine and i am using this for my dell xps 27 which has windows 8.1 pro and the keyboard and mouse also worked fine! now to the mouse!!!! i like the way the mouse is setup by me saying "setup" is how easy it is to remove the battery cover the top of the mouse comes off and you can change the battery's ( 2 aa ) and to place the dell branded usb dongle that has a little slot for it so you can keep it safe and so it will not become lost! my only concern for the mouse it that like old wired usb mouses it has that very bright red led light ( and please do not be stupid like i was by looking straight in to the red light yes it is bright!) that i can see to be not too efficient with the 2 aa battery that it needs to operate. but i do not know i have only used this keyboard and mouse combo for 7 days and i have not needed to replace the battery yet! ( FYI the keyboard and mouse combo by dell comes with 4 original equipment accessory duracell pile alcaline duralock batteries! yes that was a mouth full!) thank you for reading my review more coming soon! thank you and have a great day ahead!

Five month lifespan on the keyboard.
I purchased this on August 23rd. It is now February 4th, and the keyboard completely died in the last week. I installed fresh batteries, reset the connection, and even tried plugging into a different USB port. It's dead. I would have liked more than five months of use for my money.Outside of the dead keyboard issue, the mouse has been consistently glitchy since I purchased it. It lags during use, and sometimes stops responding until I change the surface I'm using. (ie., I move the mouse from the mousepad to the desk surface, then back to the mousepad when it glitches again.) It doesn't seem to like the same surface for extended periods.I'm aware that wireless mouses are not recommended for graphics (CAD, ESRI, Photoshop), but I couldn't even properly navigate an Excel spreadsheet with this mouse. I'm certainly not happy that I spent money on a product that died in five months, but I'm glad it did so that now I have a guiltless excuse to replace it with something that will work better. Perhaps I just got a junky unit and most of them are better, but once bitten is enough to keep me away from this particular wireless mouse/keyboard in the future.
