My 6 year old loves Pokemon. About a year ago she was given some Pokemon cards by a friend and she's been obsessed ever since! She hasn't had a full deck (x2) to play at home and I didn't want to commit a lot of money into up front. But this is perfect. 3 decks means she gets to play a different style (but let's be honest, she generally chooses Pika), and the 3 foils in there make her feel like she struck gold. Even though she just turned 6 (1st grade), she's able to play now and even attempt to teach her 3 year old sister! The playing board makes remembering what's required and what goes where very easy. For younger kids, this is an excellent starting set and the 3 decks let rotate and change up the experience easily. The biggest recommendation I have is make sure you buy 3 different style sleeve protectors so they cards don't get shuffled. My only gripe is that the storage only works if you don't protect the cards, but anyone who's been playing card games for 2 seconds knows that's the FIRST thing you do...

Our 6 year old has been collecting cards for about a year so we figured it was time to learn how to use them. I felt overwhelmed about the process so I was excited to find this game. It eased us into the rules and layout and how to use some strategy. It was fun for kids and adults to play. I wish there was an intermediate or advance version of this so I could understand how to use it with all the cards (like how to apply resistance), not just the 3 decks it came with.

Got this for my son for Christmas and he loves it!! He's been collecting cards for about a year now so I figured it's time to teach us both how to battle. They make it so easy to learn with the hardboard battle mat, 3 premade decks, coin, hit counters, instruction manual and more. Most importantly you start with a Pikachu electric deck and the other player with the cinderace fire deck. Each card in these decks are numbered so you start by putting them in order. Then just follow your individual manual book for that certain deck and it just walkes you threw how to play, with the manual already knowing what's going to happen next! It's awesome and super easy to learn! Then once you get it down you can switch to using the blue, Eevee darkness deck that's a bit more complicated and then you just get better and better and it all becomes very easy and a blast to play! If your kiddo is wanting to learn how to battle in Pokemon then I say this is the best way to go, hands down!!

I totally appreciate the high quality of the cards. It’s very rare to find Pokémon cards in this good of condition when they’re not purchased directly from the Pokémon Center. Out of all the cards, only about two were slightly dented, which honestly isn’t bad at all. The package also arrived quicker than expected, so that was another win. However, I did not receive all of the cards. According to the Pokémon tutorial and manual, each box should include a total of 60 cards, and this product comes with three boxes featuring Eevee, Pikachu, and Cinderace. The Eevee and Pikachu boxes were complete, but the Cinderace box was missing cards. Each card is numbered 1–60, and I was missing cards #1, #2, and #5. This slightly affects gameplay if one player uses the Cinderace deck since it’s missing three essential cards. That issue is the main reason I’m giving this a 4-star rating instead of 5. Overall, great quality and fast delivery, but the missing cards were not satisfying to discover.

The Pokemon Battle Academy starter kit is a great way for new players to learn about the rules of the Pokemon Trading Card Game. The kit comes with everything that you need such as, damage counters, Pickacu Battle Deck, Cinderace Battle Deck, Eeve Battle Deck, rule book, and much more. The decks are pretty much easy to use as long as you read the information guidebooks. Important note (If you want to use these battle decks online in TCG Live, understand that some of your cards will not be allowed in your TCG live Deck. You will run into the error message stating that your deck is invalid. Simply replace the cards that are invalid to bypass the invalid deck error message and you should be fine. I ran into that same issue, so just understand that.) That being said, that doesn't mean you can't play with these card decks in person.

I used to play Pokemon TCG and Yu-Gi-Oh! card game back when I was primary school. Then recently I downloaded the Pokemon TCG pocket mobile game. It sparks my fire to play Pokemon again! So I bought this Pokemon TCG Academy, to relearn the basics and also get my wife and family to play with me. Reduce screen time, increase bonding time! Delivery was quite fast, the product also came in perfect condition. Everything are in the box as described. Super excited to start playing!

Perfect as described and top quality. The decks are absolutely helping to learn the game properly and can be expanded by buying further pre built deck. Totally recommended for kids and adults too who want dive into pokémon world.

All good about this product, i got it for a cheap price compare to the mall price in Dubai, it came properly boxed and no damaged. The kids enjoyed it. They love the battle arena included - it it big and thick.

Mon fils adore ce jeu de plateau. Il est difficile à comprendre au début lorsque l’on est pas familier avec l’univers des Pokémon. Il m’a fallu du temps avant de savoir jouer. Le jeu possède de nombreuses subtilités qu’un enfant de 6 ans (âge recommandé sur la boîte) ne peut pas saisir. Idéalement il faut aussi savoir lire afin de pouvoir organiser ses combats / ses attaques. Les différents decks disponibles à l’achat (ou à construire) du JCC modifient le jeu à chaque fois.
