Timbuk2Lightweight Flight Messenger Bag

I can see why this is a "frequently returned" item. The strap is indeed quite short, and while I appreciate the compact size of the bag, the way it's set up with so many different straps and clips make it feel almost comical. This bag could be so much better if they just did less with it.

This is my third Timbuk2 bag; different sizes for different uses. In general, I love them. I bought this one to serve as a field bag on hikes and the layout is well-designed for that purpose. My only complaint is the strap length. As with my small Classic Messenger bag, the strap on this XS Flight Messenger cannot be detached and it's almost too short for an adult male. On both bags, I have the strap extended to its maximum length and it's almost too short. Certainly no room for adjustment. An extra 6 inches of strap fabric would be much appreciated, especially since I don't have the option of unclipping this strap and adding a longer one.

It is roomy even though I bought the small one. Carries my laptop, notebook and my personal belongings. Great choice.

I bought this one to replace my old aging, falling-apart Timbuk bag that had served me well for over 10 yrs. This one is a good replacement but doesn’t quite live up to Timbuk’s previous bags. There’s no stiff back to it for support so it sags quite a bit when it’s on my shoulder — the old Timbuk bags had a sturdy and padded back that held the shape very well. The problem is when I reach for something in the bag: I have to wrestle with the flap much more than before to get to my stuff.The strap on the previous bag was detachable and had swivel clips, making it easier to straighten the strap when it got twisted. This one is not as easy to detangle.On the plus side, this bag has more pockets for pens, my wallet, Covid face mask, my work ID card and its lanyard, my iPad, etc. Can’t complain about having too many pockets in these thing! It’s also comfortable on my shoulder despite the lack of support in the back. And there’s a lot of room for everything I carry regularly and anything I need to add to it.I would tell Timbuk to bring back the supported back panel of the bag. That was crucial, esp when I was traveling by plane and wanted to attach it to the handle on my rolling suitcase.

Great little bag. Timbik2 always delivers and this works great. The clips are a little stiff to open but hopefully over time they will ease up. My 3rd messenger from them.
