I purchased the non RF 5 pack SC06. One of them started nuisance alarming on CO at about 14 months. If I understand the instructions correctly, you can not turn it off, though there's an OFF position for a switch on the back. But the switch is somehow physically restricted from going to OFF position. You can only Deactivate the unit in which there's no going back once you do. You simply have to discard it once it's Deactivated. Note on the nuisance alarm: I put the unit next to other units that were alarming and it alarmed. It would sometimes go back to normal. So when it did go to normal. I put it outside. It still ended up nuisance alarming again.Overall, I think these are value priced pretty well. They are easy to install. They are loud. And I have no indication that there will be an issue with the other 4 units. After the issue I had, I do wonder if I should have went with a model that could utilize the available remote.

Junk alarm goes on for no reason

I ordered 7 of these smoke/CO units. All were packaged well and wrapped to keep any dust or debris from entering the device. The units appear to be well constructed and the baseplate is very sturdy. Installation is simple and the pairing to put devices on their contained network is straight forward. The one thing I would change is to offer an adapter bracket to attach to junction boxes. I was replacing some older units that were line powered when the house was built. Since these devices have a 10-year battery there is no need for line power. In my case, I capped the existing wires but had to come up with my own mounting procedure to both install the new baseplate and cover the junction box in the ceiling.Update 06.10.2023: A little disappointed during the install. The instructions state that if you have purchased a bundled set like this that all units are paired together at the factory. However, after installation I tested the system and none of them were paired. Although pairing the units is not difficult it would have been nice to simply install them, run the test and be done.

These CO2 and smoke detectors are easy to install and they really look nice compared to the 20 year old ones we replaced them with. While testing them there are distinct beeps for for smoke and for CO2. The 10 year battery is a great feature as well. I have bought enough to replace all of my old ones.
