That's a good question. I've had that same problem with some orders and it is infuriating.

Q: How true of a color is the carolina blue color? it’s the perfect color to match my baby shower dress. the one i had gotten from elsewhere is way off!

I can't answer to the color that you have selected, but I purchased a plum and purple sweatshirts and the colors have not faded, even after washing several times.

Q: There is a "G180" and another that is not "G180". what is the difference?

g180 is 50% cotton 50% polyester. the other ones vary

Q: does the waistband hold its shape/not stretch out while wearing?

I would say that Yes, it does hold it 's shape. The bottom is knitted and elasticized. If you get the right size, the bottom of the sweatshirt should rest right below your waist line. If it is not stretched out, it will retain it's shape. I wear a women's size 12, and I bought the Large.
