HDMI 1.4 4K UHD Surge Protector with Jumper Cable and Ground Wire

After losing several expensive pieces of home theater equipment during a lightning storm, we had to figure out how to keep it from happening again. Professional installers don't always think of this option, or using wire mesh over your cables and (grounding them with this product), but both of these options together may save your equipment. Since we made these improvements we have had uninterrupted quality, it was easy to connect and did not affect the speed of streaming audio or video. Value for money? How much is your stereo worth? Absolutely worth every penny and I highly recommend you use this product to protect against any electrical disturbance. Easy to install yourself, no need for a "pro" to tell you you don't need it. Just do it and enjoy the safety!

I bought one this summer and I am very satisfied. Bought a second one for my DVD player.

Easy to install. You need to make sure you have a earth ground nearby to connect the ground wire to. Most TVs don't have a ground wire, so you may need to connect it to electrical outlet ground.

It may work but mine came without the cable. The package contains a tiny box with the protective device, the green cable, two screws and outside the box a printed sheet as kind of instruction manual. Sloppy execution. UPDATE: company contacted me and apologized for not including the cable. Sent me one free of charge. I've connected the device and HDMI signal passes without problem in HD. Of course I cannot talk about the protection quality since I didn't have a lightning incident yet. Raised one star.

I live near Tampa, the lightning capital of the world and have had some issues with surges. My TV STILL GOT FRIED WITH THIS INSTALLED. The unit and cable were shot also. It did not do its job

Ground wire was to be connected to the unit with a tiny machine screw that wouldn't fit into the unit. Had to drill out the hole then the screw would go in. Should have supplied a fine sheet metal screw. Then the grounded outlet end had to be redone since my outlet ground screw is a size 8 sae and the supplied lug is 1mm. However, if this surge protector works for my HDMI plugs into my new 4K TV, it will have been worth the extra work installing.

Lasted about 6 months, then the TV would get intermittant signal loss on the HDMI. It finally went completely. I am an industrial electronics tech certified in board level repair. It could have been a bad device or had a mfg defect. I did not have any surges or lightning strikes. I do have a 4K TV, but it had been working fine so I doubt the 4K had any effect on the surge protector. To be fair, I have not seen the specifications on this device. However, there was no indication in the documentation that came with (minimal) it that there were any restrictions or HDMI limitations on resolution.

Used on wide screen tv. Connects for only a few seconds the goes dark.
