I was hesitant to order this music box because I read many reviews by others indicating they had many issues with assembly, especially with the gears, which ultimately caused their music box to malfunction. I’ve assembled a few wooden puzzles already and truly loved the design of this music box puzzle. So, I took a chance and ordered it anyways. Let me tell you… I’m so glad I did! It works perfectly!!! I took my time and was extra careful with the more “fragile” pieces. I made sure to wax and sand all necessary pieces. Due to the intricate and fragile pieces, I wouldn’t recommend this puzzle to anyone who has never done a wooden puzzle before. I’d suggest this puzzle to someone who has already completed another wooden puzzle.

A beautiful end product. The build was intricate with many tiny and delicate pieces. It took a few hours to finish, on and off, but it was worth it. As a gift, it was a success. I would build it again, and not make some of the mistakes I did the first time around. My ham fingers broke a couple of the delicate pieces, but the repair was pretty easy.The music box moves 6 gears, so it needs to be fully cranked for the best results, but seeing all the movement is quite something.

I found it difficult to put together a good challenge! I enjoyed it greatly.

So I ordered and assembled it, the whole process took roughly 3 hours. Beauty work, can absolutely gift to friends or kids' friend.However, there are some flaws? with the instruction which didn't make a lot of sense and resulted in some pieces breaking. You also need to be extra careful when you are exploring this product - my husband took the lid off and the marble fell right off and I can't put it back.
