Packard CH184 Crankcase Heater 45 Watts 240 Volts

As a high end mini split installer, I use this crankcase heater on my lower cost models to protect the compressor. Best price I can find.

Was getting mixed reviews of putting a crank case heater on a scroll compressor. Sometimes when my compressor starts up especially in low ambient conditions it makes a horrible noise like it is going to damage itself but after I put this thing on the compressor it starts up smooth every time. Keeps the oil viscosity just right and the liquid refrigerant out of the compressor I was worried it would not make a difference but it did. May make your energy bill go up slightly it is on all the time. To me it is worth not having to purchase another refrigeration compressor especially since they Not making R22 equipment anymore.
