for Mercedes R-107 Engine Lid Liner

I bought this car in Bamberg, Germany in 1984 and it's never had a hood pad. It never dawned on me to put one on it until recently. So for 35yrs I've missed the opportunity to drive a quieter car. And it is much quieter. The pad arrived as advertised, I put it in the Sun for a day to remove the wrinkles, I cleaned the bottom side of the hood with a degreaser, sprayed the underside of the hood and the backside of the pad with two coats of 3M 08090 Super Yellow Trim Adhesive, with my wife's help we lined it up and stuck it on. It looks great, works great, and will probably outlast me. It doesn't come with directions, so watch some YOU TUBE Demos, get an idea of what you've got to do, and go for it. You will need some assistance.

My purpose for writing this review is twofold:First, to thank the supplier for providing such a well made hoodliner. Over the years I have purchased several hoodliners for my 380SL which were made of cheap, lightweight foam. This liner is the most well made of any I have ever had, including the original equipment. The foam backing is covered with a thick cloth overlay that look good and feels great!Secondly, I want to highly recommend this hoodliner to anyone who is looking for a well made, easy to install liner which is not so thin and flimsy that it folds, flops and falls down as you're trying to attach it onto the hood. This hood liner is a wonderful accompliment to my well-pampered classic. I love it!

Easy to install with 3M Super Trim adhesive. Excellent fit. Exterior surface material will help prevent foam from dropping on engine at end of life. Really pleased with the results.

It fits 1979 450SL fine. It was little bit large so I had to trim little bit. The material looks good too. Recommended.

Used it for my 1984 380SL, good fit. Two person install is recommended.
