Military Grade durability and quality
This works exactly as intended. I have a soft spot for some of the older gear as I'm learning what the newer generation is going to be using but this pack can be used in so many ways. You can expect the military grade quality and durability, along with good quality zippers and buckles. The size is more than enough for my use; keeping a rolled up goretex parka in it and clipped to the underside of my hiking bag. The straps and buckles are easy to use and figure out, especially if you want to attach this your own way to something. Also, the color. While I'm not a big fan of ACU, it doesn't bother me for this use case, but it can also easily be painted or sprayed to match another scheme you have or another generic hiking color. For my use, I left it the way it is, as it sits under the bag and does not bother me for hiking purposes. This item arrived in pristine condition I might add, so I know it's going to outlive me.

Very good addition to any outdoors carry system.
This US Army military surplus waistpack is tough as nails, clean and waterproof (within limits), and after being in storage since 2008, as evidenced by the attached tag, has no odor or any visible wear of any kind. The waist belt was stashed away in the tunnel in the back surface as it should have been, and is likewise clean and as-new. I have been on the fence about this item for a while, but after re-reading the reviews on the seller and the item, made the buy and am more than satisfied. I will hand wash it, of course, as instructions state, and put this into use for every outdoor activity that requires a roomy and easy to wear carry system. This also would mount easily on my Alice pack (smaller version) for longer than day-trip events. Really, this is probably a must-have item for a relatively small price, thanks to Uncle Sam - so we better get them while they are still available in this kind of condition, folks.

Perfect
The delivery was early which is rare in my area. The bag was exactly as described and of excellent quality for the cost. Not a used piece or surplus, but brand new. Stitching and zipper are above expectations. This easily attached to my Mollee 2 large ruck using the straps and snaps. I bought it to hold smaller items and tools and provide easy access without having to open the entire pack. I would recommend this to a friend.

Perfect to attach to MOLLE II Assault PAck
I purchased this item to attach to the bottom of my USGI Molle ii Assault Pack. As expected it attached with minimal effort and really completes the assault pack both by adding extra storage room and also adding some needed bottom protection to the main pack. When combined the two units (waist pack and assault pack) provide more than enough room to accommodate the standard BOB/GO bag list, or 2-3 day hiker. Being USGI issue means the they are high quality and can take a beating. My waist pack came brand new, in unissued condition. It can be worn alone or as mentioned attached to the assault pack or Molle ii rucksack. For the price it is a no-brainer to add some extra storage space to your existing ruck/pack. As my assault pack is ACU digital this was a prefect match. Consider picking up a Molle ii USGI assault pack and combine with this waist pack, you'll have a functional heavy duty pack that will last many years for half the price of say a Rush 5.11 24 bag (Rush makes premium bags, but expensive!).

worth the $8.25
Based on my personal experience of using these "waist" bags while in the Army and the price of $8.25 I bought one of these bags to take along on longer hikes that are long enough for a pack but not a full back pack. They have a generous amount of room and the cinch straps keep the load from flopping around. The one I received is used, not "like new" used but certainly in "good serviceable" condition. All buckles, snaps and straps are intact and the zipper is undamaged. At $8.25 this bag is a good buy. If you are going to spend $18 then you should demand and expect new.

Looks brand new
Original USGI issue and never used. Took over a week to be shipped. Though when I was shipped it was next day saver UPS air.

Excellent for the price
For $10 you can't find anything better. I use it as my camping utility bag that holds all may cord, stakes, hardware, and bric a brac. The buckles are beefy. The zipper is as tough as they come. You can use it as a butt pack or modify it and use it as a satchel. I regret I don't have need for a second one, otherwise I'd buy one without second thoughts with no need to look elsewhere. I love this thing.UPDATE: I made up an excuse to buy a second one. That's how kickass and versatile this bag is. The first and third time I bought one (from different vendors), they were sold as "used" and were in very good shape. The one I bought *NEW* was the worst shape of all. See my warning below. All in all, you can't go wrong with the pack. Too bad I can't say the same about vendors--some are dirtier than others, no pun intended. [ok, maybe pun intended].WARNING: I bought a second one from McGuire Army Navy and it came stained with something on the inside. Clearly not NEW. Avoid this seller. It's underhanded to just repackage something someone returned USED and selling it as if new. Dirty trick. I returned it, bought a used one from another vendor, and that one is in better shape!

Like new condition
The waist pack arrived in excellent condition. Thank you. I throw some stuff in it and stick in the useless under seat cubby in my truck. Despite reading the tag inside the pack I had; I machine washed my Desert Camo pack. All I had left was straps and buckles. I will do better with this one.
