no it does, the water in the barrels maybe rain water but its still water; mover over the mosquitoes are attracted to it

Q: How do you link up other barrels?

There are ports at the top, they stick out from the barrel, you would cut those open. Get some tubing that fits, use an O ring to attach, he overflow will go into the next barrel

Hello - I am unaware of where we stated you can only use a 3' hose. You can use whatever length hose you wish - the higher you elevate the rain barrel and more you direct the hose downhill, the stronger the pressure.
