Shark Upright & Canister Upright Vacuum, Fuchsia

No carpet in my new house, a few rugs. This is perfect for a quick cleaning. I am willing to bet it won't last 20+ years like my previous vacuum, but for the price, it is just right and I don't have to move a cord around.

When I plugged in the vac I couldn't figure out why it never stopped charging. On the second day of the entire light illuminated (it didn't go to half blink, indicating full charge) I thought it was defective. I started looking closely at the vac and realized that Amazon had sent me, too, SV1106N, not the SV1106 as listed on the product page.For those who don't know the difference, the N has a smaller watt battery (8-something vs 14-something, hence, less run time) and the charge light annoyingly never goes out. So essentially, Amazon sent less of a vacuum for the same price as what was billed.By the next morning it finally went to half-blink. It took TWO FULL DAYS for that initial charge, which is over quadruple the time the instructions say it should take!I figured I'd give it a shot anyway before automatically sending it back since I really needed a vac and the size seemed like a good fit for my needs: front door rug, two large throw rugs, five small throws, and one hardwood floor stairwell. I wanted to know if it was worth the exchange.The battery almost didn't make it through the rugs and stairs, and a couple times it didn't because I did a little extra hard floor. The larger battery of the SV1106, being bigger, should last longer and get through all those, and then some. The SV1106 is what Amazon billed when I clicked the buy button, not the N, so I sent it back for an exchange, handled through a live rep who notated the model error and for shipping to send the correct one.The replacement Amazon sent was another SV1106N. Now, perhaps shipping doesn't realize it's a different model because the N on the outside of the cardboard box they see is apart from the number and next to something else, but if you look at the actual vac box, it's clear the N is part of the model number, so maybe they didn't realize they had two different models when pulling stock, but with the number of people reporting this, especially now, Amazon should know this and have it straight.I noted this to the next customer service rep I talked to. She said they did indeed have both models in stock, and shipping should be pulling the right one. She would only issue me a refund so the product could be temporarily pulled to correct stock in the warehouse, and then I should repurchase the right model after they sent me an email indicating it'd been done.I never received that email and never saw the product temporarily suspended from purchase, and there has been plenty of time to do so. I hesitate to purchase again for fear Amazon will send me the wrong model a third time, but I really want this vacuum back in my house, so long as the right model performs slightly better.

Love the ease and convenience of this vac. I purchased it for touch ups between cleanings. I have not timed the battery but it lasts longer than I want to vacuum so for me battery life is excellent. The dust cup us easy to empty by pushing a button to open the cup and dump the contents. Then it just snaps back in place. Suction is adequate. I have found that if you are vacuuming a rug on a hard surface and need to pick up crumbs next to the rug edge that the suction us not strong enough to pick up from floor level when the vac is straddling the area between the edge of the rug and the floor. That's my only complaint. Otherwise I am very happy with it and recommend it.

Granted, I just got this vacuum. It was easy to assemble - I let the battery charge for 7 hours and then took a quick 10 min run thru out our 2500 sq ft house. I love the LED lights which shows dust and hairs - my main targets. I went thru the bathrooms, kitchen and two living rooms for the linoleum and hard wood floors plus two of the bedrooms with pile carpet. All I can say is this little vacuum picked up an amazing amount of dog hair and dust in no time. I just want this for little jobs during the week. I have a big, bulky corded vacuum for thorough cleaning when I have more time. I'd say this is the perfect, easy compliment to mid-week cleaning.UPDATE Had to drop a star. Yes, I still love the vacuum for ease of use and the ability to clean carpets and hard wood floors. However, the little brush roll access door broke off and won't stay on. My beef is you can't find a replacement part for purchase. I have looked everywhere. They have one for a similar model for sale ($4.95) but not this one. I have no idea how this happened as I do use the vacuum quite a bit, but it certainly isn't abused in any way. I taped the piece on, maybe that will work, I still want a replacement part!! :(

This vacuum is great for hardwood and tile floors. It also works well on my large area rug, although for a deep, deep clean I will use my corded Shark every couple of weeks.This vacuum is so lightweight and easy to use; I use it every other day to keep dog hair and dander under control. I love the floor light, too. I never realized how quickly her hair accumulates on the floor until I saw it! It is amazing how much she sheds! I don't know how she has any hair on her body!!I love my corded Shark, but it is a "chore" to drag it out, plug it in, empty it, wind the cord and put it back. This cordless Shark is actually "exciting" to use (if you can believe that). My husband appreciates it as well since I am vacumming more often since he has allergies.I've had no issues with battery life. I can get through my kitchen, dining room, living room (which also includes an area rug on which I use the carpet setting), bedroom and two bathrooms with battery to spare.

This is my second one. I loved the first and would have kept it but changing the battery out was an engineering feat. So I bought a new one. To my shock it was almost 2x the price of the first. Still, I bought it because no other cordless compares.

Now, let me lead with saying it is not a Dyson. Not much can beat a Dyson in the vacuum world. But not many can afford Dyson either. I received this vacuum as a gift. It is super easy to use. Has great suction. It is always ready to go and fits on the side of the toilet (most vacuums do not fit in there to clean!). Plus the price is affordable. I can do my whole house (2160 sq ft) on the battery life. I have a large dog who sheds and this gets everything cleaned up! I also purchased one of these for my niece for graduation. She has a little apartment at college and this is the perfect vacuum to keep her place tidy!

I like that is very portable because of the light weight and manoeuvrability without compromising the cleaning power. I also like the light in the front which really make the dust visible for cleaning. I usually vacuum 3 rooms at a time, have never run out of battery. The only thing I wish it would be different is that I have to tap twice to get the floor vacuuming mode because when it is turned on, it is in carpet vacuuming mode. But I guess people who vacuum carpets would be happy about this design:-)

It's light-weight and easy to use. So far, it has picked up everything in it's path on my carpet and it does a very good job on bare floors as well. I tested it out immediately after purchase and it only vacuums about a room and a half before needing to charge again. However, that's an easy fix; I just vacuum the high traffic areas regularly and the rest only when necessary. If you can live with that, this is a solid buy and should work for you.

Charge needs to last longer, but suction is good. I had a Hoover Air cordless that I LOVED. I got it on sale, but when it broke down I could not afford to replace it with the same, so I got the Shark. It's pretty good. Just doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the Hoover I got used to. Good basic vacuum tho.

I was surprised by how much I like this vacuum. It doesn’t need to be charged that often, good suction and I’ve been using it now for a couple months.

The battery lasts for a long time. Unfortunately the wheels got stuck with dog hair and the wheels ends up leaving marks all over my floor. They came off with mopping but it was enough of a pain to resell the item
