This movie should have more than the 3 stars it currently has!
This was a great story about the bond of friendship, the philia kind of love, which sometimes is deeper than the bond of eros love. Ranveer Singh...sigh... He is such a delight to watch and I like Arjun too. Only reason I watched this despite of its low rating was because it had Ranveer and Arjun in it - was curious to see what the pairing would produce and I wasn't disappointed. Only thing that I didn't like was - it's not a happy ending (at least for us the viewers, though for the two friends - Bikram and Bala, it was probably the best ending they could hope for). I am a sucker for happy endings so that depressed me somewhat, Overall, thoroughly enjoyable movie

Reality or not?
Enjoy the camaraderie of the stars from childhood to adulthood. Just a little criminal activity now and then. Priyanka Chopra is almost evil in this movie. Almost.

Awesome!
Love this movie! A very entertaining movie about 2 inseparable friends bonded together since they were kids due to circumstances by the partition of Bangladesh from India back in the 70's that inadvertently landed them in Calcutta with little hope or options until they found the means to support themselves by hook or by crook! Fast forward a decade so later and... ta... da! we have 2 adults in the gorgeous form of Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor - the ultimate outlaws, loved by the people they helped but hated by law enforcers as well as rival gangsters. They were magnificent together but it was Ranveer Singh that shone with his swagger, charisma and intense presence that almost overwhelmed the rest of the cast and they were no slouch themselves. Highly recommended!Note: Ranveer Singh has the makings of a super-duper mega star that could surpass all the Khans and Kapoors of the Bollywood film industry. Watch this movie as well as Ram-Leela and you'll know what I'm talking about!

Love it or hate it? I'm not sure...
I am new to Indian films but instantly became a Ranveer Singh fan, which is why I chose this one. Shortly into the film I realized I was NOT going to like it. The plot is fine, the actors were good, the set and costuming were decent (it seemed more modern than 70's, IMO), but I couldn't understand what genre this fell under. It had comedic and stylized moments that made me confused about the year the movie was set in, but then there was more bang bang blood and guts than I'm seeking in a movie that has dance and musical breaks. Despite my confusion, I watched it all the way through and liked the ending. But I wouldn't recommend or watch it again. It was like a Tarentino Hindu film except with too much dialogue and not enough profound acting. I don't know, I'm still confused. But also still a Ranveer fan. :-)

This movie is great and they both have amazing chemistry. I dont know why this movie is getting a bad rep. its hilarious. Guarantee you if this had sharukh and salman the same haters would be riding the five stars.

This is a defeatist, pointless, depressing movie
I couldn’t believe the ending of this movie. There was nothing positive about it - after all they had been through and with a chance of ‘redemption’ - they choose death. I don’t know if this is something laudable in Indian culture - like there is no point in bettering your circumstances or trying to... what the hell! What are you telling people in these similar circumstances? There is no hope for you. This is what really bothered me about this film.

Not much fun at all
I wanted this to be more fun then it ever was. I enjoy fun masala films but this can't quite be classed as such because it was apparently also trying to make some kind of point of the struggles of refugees-which are valid points but they are rendered meaningless in this kind of movie. I like Ranveer okay- he always seems to give off that leering greasy vibe of that guy at the bar that you know will give you a venereal disease but you're still kind of attracted to anyway- but he's wooden and clearly doesn't seem to be having much fun being an "outlaw". Why Priyanka's character falls in love with him is a real mystery. The only one with any swagger was Irrfan who was at least one good thing about the film and he's why I gave this 2 stars instead of one.I guess this movie was also trying get across the importance friendship but really the overall message seemed to be don't bother trying to rise above your difficult past. Feel free to skip this.
