I use those everywhere I can. There size make-it perfect to spread the load on a wider surface, it absorb load variation, thermal variation / expansion and add forgiveness to high strength bolt. Oh it does prevent the screw to break loose or over-stress.It may not be the best thing after the invention of the wheel but keep-it running smoothly ;-)Gee I need another box...

Belleville "style" or "appearance" is more appropriate. M6 size test torqued to only 12 ftlbs. and disassembled.This made the washer permanently a flat washer.Conical in shape, but no spring component with this washer material.It is a nice knurled stainless washer. However, it is a wanna-be or wishes it was Belleville.

The media could not be loaded. After tightening as you would for a constant torque hose clamp that uses conical washers, these just stay flat. I used them in both areas that get hot on the exhaust collector and less hot on the valve cover. Both are flat after tightening once.

I got these because I needed a serrated type lock washer with a large smooth outer edge in 6mm . I would have preferred flat , serrated both sides but couldn’t find those. Better than shakerless if you need a non-marring washer.
