Now, I like KastKing products. I have a number of their reels & a great telescopic rod, as well as a few tools. Out of everything I've purchased from them I've only gotten 2 duds: A set of pliers that broke on the first use, and this reel spooler.It's needlessly complicated. It didn't fit any of my medium to medium-light rods unless I hugged the reel right up against the spooler. It did fit one medium-heavy rod, so I used that for all the reels I tried to spool with this. Every single time (using it with a Kastking Brutus spincast, a Kastking summer spinning reel, and a Kastking Royale Legend II - no, I don't only buy KK products, these are just the ones I needed to change the line on) I tried it the line got tangled around the device and spool, the tension bands came off and tangled everything... it's just a headache. You're better off sticking a pencil through your spool and sitting with it down between your feet to add tension. That's a hell of a lot simpler and more cost-effective. This thing was terrible.

I probably shouldn’t write this right after trying to use it, because I’m so frustrated I almost snapped a rod over my knee. First off, this thing is made like a dollar store product. It feels incredibly cheap. It doesn’t hold steady on the rod, it doesn’t allow the spool to spin well, and the tension bands are just a silly idea that barely works. If all you do is baitcasters or spincasters it’s probably slightly better than nothing, but for spinning reels don’t put yourself through the frustration. I’ll send this junk back and spend a little more money. If this product were $5 or so it might be worth keeping in the bag for emergencies, but even that is questionable.

Tried to save some money and it wound up costing me more. I really wanted this gizmo to work - the idea sounded great. But following an unsatisfactory results after the first use and a disaster after the second, I've decided to return the device. Didn't try it with monofilament, but it definitely does not work well with light (8lb test) braid line. It's a good idea, but cheaply made of soft plastic and doesn't work as advertised.

Kast King does it again!This is so awesome, I wish I had it years ago. Now I don't have to bug my husband to hold my line while I reel! The instructions were easy to follow and it worked like a breeze. Makes my life that much easier! This would be a great gift for the fisherman and woman who has everything. (Which is my husband and I ...You can never have too much fishing gear!) Kast King is a household name for my family. We have bought their bags, rods, reels, fishing pliers, scissors, fishing line, gloves, neck gaiters, tackle, sunglasses and now this awesome line spooler. I have purchased all different types of reel spooling tools and with each one I end up putting them away and never using them again. I have seen this one in every search I've done on Amazon and never looked at twice because it looks like the cheap red one I got from Bass pro shop that was pointless to purchase. Reluctantly I purchased it and I can say this one is different then any i have only used before. I have used it 5 times 3 spinning reels and 2 baitcasting reels I can't believe I waited so long to buy it. The price is amazing it's easy to use, if your looking for a spooling tool this is the one you want.
