Insta360 3m 9.8ft Extended Edition Selfie Stick for ONE RS, ONE X2 & X3 Action Camera

This packed down small enough to fit inside my rucksack, but extends to a very useful 3 metres. It was long enough for me to hold it level with a rollercoaster so I could get a fantastic shot of it passing by. I could also hold it down from the viewing area into a pond with an otter in it so I could get a shot of it swimming under water. It's sturdy and light weight, though it does need some strength to hold it out when it is fully extended because physics. Expensive, but worth it to reliably get awesome shots.

Lightweight carbon fibre selfie stick. Provides upto 3m in length from a small package. Gives a good low drone feel to your photos. Ideal for me as I can't fly a drone on a lot of the sensitive sites I work on.

I’d been debating whether to get this or not as it’s quite expensive! However, it’s well worth it. It’s super light as it’s carbon fibre. It extends to around 10ft. The pole will bend at the end slightly when fully extended. Nothing to worry about but it doesn’t go perfectly straight just incase that’s what you’re expecting. It’s heavier when fully extended. I’ve added a wrist strap at the end because you don’t want to be leaning over a bridge or reservoir or anything else and end up dropping a £100 selfie stick and £400 camera over the edge! This is not an invisible selfie stick unlike the cheaper version. When collapsed the stick doesn’t show much other than the yellow bit at the top. When fully opened you see around four feet of the selfie stick in shot.

I was not sure about ordering this at first due to the price and how much use I may actually get out of it. After watching a couple of videos online it made my mind up. I was worried before it would arrive that it would be too heavy and impractical for use on holiday. Once it arrived I could feel straight away from the weight (or lack of) of the box that the weight would not be an issue. I have the shorter selfie stick which came with the X5 but generally this one is now my go to. The build quality along with the overall feel in my hands is great. Is feels sturdy although it can flex if you extend it the full 3m. I have captured some great drone like footage with this where I haven't wanted to take my drone as well as some great shots on a boat, fully extended making it look like the camera is following the boat up high from the back. We also used this for parasailing and I had no issues holding it for 12 minutes in the air. I have knocked one star of for the price as it is expensive. Overall though it has given me a much broader range of options for filming some fun scenes.

This is the second Insta360 pole I have bought, the other one being the famed lightweight aluminium version. like that, this two fell apart during a shoot and in all honesty, there is no way I can't trust these 3rd party manufactured brands under the main Insta360 masthead. I simply pulled the sections open one by one as I have done for months and sure enough I heard a crack and then something fell internally to the bottom of the shaft base. Needless to say, the top section with the X3 still attached, came away in my hand. What a rubbish piece of equipment. simply don't buy the thing.

The price of this is what gives this a 1 star as well as it marks easily. There are poles out there identical to this at halftime price. Don't bother paying extra for the 360 logo because you aint gonna be staring at it. Save your money. I even found a better pole with a solid tripod for half the price. Keep looking.....

The 3m selfie stick enables me to capture faux drone like footage using the Insta360 RS 1 inch 360 edition camera and has allowed me to capture footage that is not possible using Insta’s standard selfie stick. The 3m stick is made entirely from carbon fibre which makes it super strong and very stiff. The Insta 1 inch 360 edition camera is a pretty heavy and the stick does bend a little near full extension but this is to be extended. Near full extension I make sure I use smooth and gentle movements or capture locked off tripod type footage to ensure I don’t put too much strain on it. I am not sure how the stick would cope wildly swing it around using the Insta360 1 inch 360 edition camera at full extension, and I don’t plan to find out. This Insta 3m stick is stiff and will remain at any length I choose to pull it out to. Even with the additional weight of the RS 1 inch 360 edition the stick remains in situ and doesn’t slip or collapse. There are cheaper alternative 3m carbon fibre selfie sticks on the market but the Insta360 version is the best. It may be more expensive that the alternatives but the Insta360 3m selfie stick is worth the extra, not least for the additional features it has.
