Amazing value for a quality trapper, but bent blade is a non starter
I wanted to love this knife. Better quality than the Bear & Sons as far as fit and finish, and even better than some way more expensive Case Trappers for that matter. Comes in a great fitted case. Bone handle scales are perfectly fitted, no gaps, symmetrical in shape, and highly polished. No gaps in the scales as with some Case trappers, and backsprings are flush when the blades are closed and open, which is always a guess with Case. The brass spacers are fitted perfectly, and there’s no sloppy buffer slope or gaps where they meet the evenly ground backspring at the rear bolster, which is something I’ve seen on virtually every Case Trapper. The closing snap is as good as Case, opening is nearly as good. End bolsters are fully polished, and most important symmetrical, so someone took their time and was careful on the grinder/buffer. Blades are sharp, and blade bevels are ground nicely and even. The standard blade with Boker Tree Brand logo is straight and well fitted, with no gap where it meets the spring when open. However, the Spey blade is crooked when open! I couldn’t believe it! This is the sole reason I’m sending it back to Amazon for a replacement. It almost looks bent, but I think it’s mostly how it’s fitted. Because it’s bent off to the right when open, it actually comes into contact with the liner when closed. Big disappointment, but I hope to get a replacement without this one problem, but with all the other great features. Someone at Boker QC dropped the ball big time, as this is so easily checked. For about $30 you can’t beat this value. Bear and Sons is $44 and you roll the dice on quality, most Case knives are around $50-$55, and you can spend $120 for Great Eastern. Depending on the aspect and feature, this knife is almost as good, as good, or at least one aspect better than most Case Trappers, but a crooked blade is a total deal breaker. I ordered the Faux Tortoise in this same model as well, and we’ll see how that looks in comparison. I’ll post back and see how the replacement looks. Follow-up 5-19-20: Realized I never followed up on this post (only took me nearly 2 years!) In any case I contacted Boker directly at the time, and sent the knife into their customer service. They had it about a week and the CS rep put a special request on it, and made sure the replacement was hand inspected. The second knife was in perfect shape, and is one of the nicer trappers in my collection, so I'm upgrading my review from 4 to 5 stars.

Hey guys, it's me again. This review is ...
Hey guys, it's me again. This review is titled, The Opinion Review. I want to comment on the guys dogging out Boker. Boker is probably the most recognized German knife manufacturer in the world.I own six boker knives and one of them is an old tree brand congressman. It also has a crack near one of the pins, looks like it has probably been there since it left the knife beaters table. That old knife will probably be here when where gone with a crack in the bone scale. Not hurting the functionality at all. Let me put a little bug in your ear. There's a lot of boker knives left Germany with a little crack here are three. It's bone that's what it does sometimes when you drive a pin through it. If you want a knife that you don't have to worry about cracking, buy one with a plastic handle. If boker had to worry about a little crack in some of there bone handle knives they might as well quit using bone for knife scales. Boker knives have always been top notch, not perfect. I have always thought German knives were a little on the rough side cosmetically. I said a LITTLE. Before you start dogging out Boker knives because you got one with a little crack in the bone, you need to dig a little deeper and act like you know a little about a knife to start with. Thanks again.

Good Knife
The quality is pretty good and seems pretty well made. But I returned it because it was too small for me. I'm used to the Case trapper pocket knives which are a bit bigger than this one.
