OLICAMP Mess Kit

I have been researching small backpack mess kits for a while - Compared to the aluminum mess kits - this one wins hands down. What little you sacrifice in weight is made up for in quality. This set feels solid despite the small size.I seasoned the fry pan using cooking oil and then fried up some venison sausage. The pan worked well and did not warp - hope it handles an open flame like it did a gas flame. The handle does not lock in place. The inside of the pan easily developed a nice patina on the surface and is now ready for use on my next hike.The pot holds 3 cups - will likely replace plastic knob with wood - handle works perfectly and locks in a way so that it lessens spillage.The plate/fry lid is solid and at least the plastic cup can be used to measure too (metal would have been better choice).This is an excellent 1 person cookset option - I do not regret this purchase.

It's a nice set small, lightweight, compact, the pot is too small for me (3 cups) though so I left it out and just use a canteen cup instead (4 cups). Its nice because now I can put my stove inside the kit too.

This is a great little kit for one person. Very sturdy yet more lightweight than you may expect. As soon as I got mine I washed it, seasoned the frying pan with a little oil and gave it the obligatory test run making lunch. Worked great and cleaned up easy. This kit certainly beats its cheap, aluminum counterpart. It should hold up for quite a while with reasonable care.

Excellent product, well-made, and very sturdy. Nothing bends or buckles, it's all very solid. Although heavier than aluminium mess kits, it's far sturdier and won't impart toxins into your food. Ideal for 1 person. The small pot boils enough water for a cup of tea, instant coffee, or any 'add hot water' meal for 1. I ditched the plastic cup. The outside of the skillet is now covered with baked-on soot that won't come off, but I don't mind.So far so good.

It was as advertised. I purchased it to place in an emergency to go bag. It is compact, the handle attachment seems secure and the components were simple to fit together. I rated it as a 3 star because it has not been field tested by me yet so can not speak to performance.

Bowls are too shallow for cooking stuff like rice. But I should have known that from the photos....

Obviously this is a little heavier than the ultra thin aluminum ones, but I am replacing one of those after it turned into aluminum foil on my camp stove. So the thickness is a good thing. It is compact and the locking handle works well.I wish the mug was not plastic, but that is just a wish the plastic one works fine and saves on weight I suppose.

This was just what I wanted. Its made of quality metal and easy to clean. Stacks together nice but does rattle a lot while hiking. But that is easy to overcome with a few paper towels stuffed inside.
