Durable and Reliable Mechanical Pencil
The Zebra M-701 has been my go-to writing instrument for years, and for good reason. Here's why I highly recommend it: Durability: The stainless steel barrel of this mechanical pencil is incredibly durable, making it ideal for everyday use. Despite its solid construction, it's surprisingly lightweight, which adds to its overall comfort. Plus, the sturdy design means it can withstand the occasional drop without any damage. Smooth Writing: The medium point 0.7mm lead provides a smooth and consistent writing experience. Whether I'm jotting down notes or sketching out ideas, the pencil glides effortlessly across the page, resulting in clean and precise lines every time. Comfortable Grip: The knurled metal grip of the M-701 offers a comfortable and secure hold, even during extended writing sessions. It prevents slipping and fatigue, allowing me to maintain control and focus on my work without any discomfort. Professional Appearance: The sleek stainless steel design gives this mechanical pencil a professional and sophisticated look. It's perfect for use in the office, classroom, or any setting where you want to make a polished impression. The only minor drawback is that the pencil is a bit heavier than some other models, which may not be to everyone's preference. However, I've found that the solid feel of the pencil actually adds to its durability and gives it a substantial, quality feel in hand. Overall, the Zebra Pen M-701 combines durability, reliability, and comfort, making it an excellent choice for anyone in need of a high-quality writing instrument. Whether you're a student, professional, or creative enthusiast, this pencil is sure to exceed your expectations.

Good for the field or at home.
If you're looking for a durable pen for home or field use, this pen will work well. It's not heavy or feather light and it grippy under dry or lightly damp conditions. It works well with Rite-in-the-rain paper or any paper for that matter. It's a mechanical pencil that takes standard lead refills. The eraser is something to be desired but I cross out a lot anyways when scratching down thoughts in a notebook. Not for carpentry, mechanical pencils and rough wood are not good friends, but for paper this will work. And if you drop it, its shiny, heavy and easy to stop and won't travel far and it will work afterwards. Highly recommended. Get 2 if you can.

Great experience
I've been using the pen version of the f701 and always loved it. I was unable to find the mechanical pencil version until now. Arrived on time and as advertised.

Well-made, sturdy & masculine Pencil
This is a solid, masculine, beautifully designed pencil, which would particularly appeal to engineers, draughtsmen and other technical types. It's heavier than the Pentel P207, but I wanted that. I bought it because its stainless steel and chunky - nice thick barrel. Provided I don't lose it, I can see myself using this pencil for the rest of my life. My only quibble is that the ballpoint pen complement to this pencil, the Zebra F-701, uses a Zebra ballpoint refill rather than the universally available and cheaper Parker ballpoint refill. You can buy clones of the Parker refill for a quarter of the price of the F-701 refill. The 0.7mm lead of the M-701 is better suited to the sturdy and manly character of this pencil than the 0.5mm size. Nevertheless, it would be great if Zebra brought out this same pencil in the 0.5mm bore as well. I would buy it and I'm sure others would too. The Pentel P-207 is probably the benchmark as far as 0.7mm pencils are concerned. The M-701 weighs 19.6g versus the 9.2g of the P-207 but it still feels comfortable in the hand, and its knurled grip allows the writer to hold the pencil firmly.

Nice pencilโmatches the pen (which is nicer!)
I bought this pencil because it matched the pen of the same model. But the pen is way way way nicer. Absolutely love this model of pen, heavy, all metal, solidly built. I got the pen first and had to buy the matching pencil, which turns out to be a little bit of a let down. It is a great pencil, all metal and well built, but not as solid, and not as heavy. Itโs definitely better than most pencils but kinda flimsy compared to the tank of a pen. I probably would have loved this pencil if I wasnโt comparing it to the pen. I do use them both every day. And Iโm glad I have the set. Itโs nice, but frankly I like my Pentel Kerry pencils better. But I like that these two match. And there isnโt a Pentel Kerry pen. So you decided if itโs worth it.

Can't beat the price. Great buy!!
Really nice. I enjoy using it. Nice color. Function outstanding. Just the right size. I never use the erasers too small.

A well-made mechanical pencil
This mechanical pencil has a comfortable length. The stainless steel barrel gives it a solid feel, and the knurled portion of the barrel ensures a secure grip. An eraser is underneath the cap. Recommended.

A premium mechanical pencil at a reasonable price
As a high school math teacher, I use pencils all day, every day. The Zebra M-701 is probably the best mechanical pencil I've used, superior to my previous favorite, Faber-Castell's Grip series. Granted I haven't tried any of the mechanical pencils in the $100+ range, but after using this pencil, I don't see the need. This pencil is perfectly weighted and has good heft in the hand. Its stainless steel construction is extremely solid, but doesn't feel clunky. The textured bit near the tip is a very nice touch, again superior to the Faber-Castell Grip's little rubber nubbies. I also appreciate that when you depress the button to advance the lead, it comes out in small, realistic increments - on the order of 1 mm, as opposed to disposable mechanicals that poop out 2-3 mm at a time. As far as lead diameter goes, I purchased the 0.7mm model because I have a tendency to press a bit too hard when writing, and so I can't realistically use 0.5mm (which I would prefer). I was tempted to get the 0.9mm version of this model, but it's slightly harder to find. If I do purchase the 0.9mm model, I'll review it separately. Overall, I highly recommend this pencil to anyone who needs a very high quality daily driver without spending $20+.

Super
Stabiler Druckbleistift. Nachdem mir regelmรคssig Druckbleistifte von Faber Castell und Konsorten aus Kunststoff in der Hosentasche durchgebrochen sind, musste jetzt mal was aus Edelstahl her.

All Metal Pencil
All metal pencil. Bought two of them to go in two EDC bags, to go with Zebra F701 Ballpoint Pens. Go great together, all metal, strong writes/draws well, feels good in the hand, not too heavy.
