Light qualityColor: I like the four color temperature settings and they are ranked in order of increasing coolness: Sleep/night is a warm color light, "Coffee" icon is slightly cooler, reading appears to be nearly neutral, and writing is the coolest.I have not checked the color temperature, or tint but can if you like.Diffusion: a nice even soft glowSize of the light panel: The light emitting panel is large enough to be a soft diffuse light on a desktop, small enough to be unobtrusive.Brightness: A broad range, but I usually keep it on the lowest or next to lowest settingPhysical qualities:Tilt and rotation: There are two tilt axes, one at the base and a second one - an "elbow" - about two thirds the way up the total length of the arm. The top part of the arm folds against the lower section if you want the light to be a vertical source. If you have a wall next to your desk this allows you to aim the light at it. Shining the light at a wall creates what photographers call "bounce light" effectively creating large, low contrast illumination. If you then fold the lower arm flat against the base Tthe lamp points straight up. Limits on the tilt angles keep both sections of the arm from being erected entirely perpendicular to the base. The Lamp head rotates a full 180 degrees and there is another pivot just above the elbow.In short, you can position the lamp precisely where you want or need it to be.What could make it better:- Placing the USB port at the front or on the side rather than at the back

With many dozen LED desk lamps to choose from, this is tough decision. Lots of variations in size, construction, capabilities, and price point. THIS IS THE ONE. I narrowed it down to a few, then picked the TaoTronics. I'll have fun picking my favorite "temperature", but this lamp puts evenly distributed light over my working area and I love it. Very well made. Quick delivery, in "gift" quality packaging. Sturdy, with dozens of possible positions. I have never felt compelled to write a review within an hour of opening the package - but this lamp deserves a positive and quick review.

I bought this to use as a piano lamp. The many different settings for the different qualities of light are nice, but we mostly use just the coffee cup icon setting as it has a slight yellowish warm tone which I like. The lamp is very easy to use, and I like the ability to point the lamp in almost any direction. On the downside, I would prefer the lamp to cast a broader beam, so that the light is cast evenly over the pages of sheet music. The lamp's form looks clean and well designed. I am keeping the light and believe it to be a good value. I hope it will last for many years, but only time will tell.

I initially gave this light a poor review because it quit working on one of the settings. The seller 'Sunvalleytek" must of read my review and offered to replace the light even after 3 months from the purchase date. I have 3 TaoTronics LED lights and do like features that differ from other LEDs. I have updated my rating for this product for its quality, but mostly for the "Sunvalleytek Company" for their customer service and want to 'thank them very much' ! Thanks, Jeff

So far, this lamp is great! I really like the four different color temperature options (warm white, neutral warm, neutral cool and cool white) as well as the different brightness levels. The attention to detail is quite nice, the light slowly fades in and out when you turn it on or off and it remembers the last combination of brightness/color. I also really like the metal body, it feels high quality.So far, I haven't figured out how to make the timer function work, the manual says to press and hold the "+" button for 1.5s and then the LED indicator will blink three times to indicate that it is in timer countdown mode, but that doesn't seem to happen. I'll keep playing with it, though to see if I can figure it out. My only complaint about the lamp is that the head doesn't rotate quite as much as I would like, you can tilt it about 15 degrees to either side, but I'd really like to be able to rotate it nearly 90 degrees so I can direct the light upwards. Other than that, though, it's a great lamp!Update: It turns out, I was pressing the wrong button to enable the sleep timer, you press and hold the power button, not the plus button for three seconds, then it works

Spent two hours looking at LED desk lamps before narrowing it down to this and one other. Needed several key features:1. Long horizontal reach without tipping2. Circular base so that it could be oriented at an angle to a wall without looking awkward3. Broad lamp that was adjustable and tiltable to even illuminate papers on a vertical stand used to hold books open for reading and papers displayed next to a monitor for transcribing with a keyboard.4. Lighting brightness and color options to make sure it was easy on the eyes at all times of day or night and office lighting.5. A USB power port to charge a phone via cable.This lamp satisfies all criteria above, plus is of solid and quality construction, and has a beautifully simple geometry of design, and a great price. Completely satisfied. Would buy again.

Love, love, love this lamp. I do latch hook art and painting, plus work on puzzles. I love the different levels of dim to light it offers.
