Beauty Hard Water Shower Filter Replacement

For years I spent boku $$$$ on platinum highlights to my naturally blonde hair every other month, only to have them fade to dingy yellow within 2 weeks. After being told by my longtime stylist for years that my hair "just had too much red in it to stay blonde," I finally decided it was time to find a professional (aka super expensive) BLONDE colorist. The FIRST thing she asked me when I told her my hair always turned yellow was: what kind of water do you have, well or city? When I told her I had city water, her response was: "It's not your hair, it's your water." After doing some research, I found out that the water in my city is high in minerals and very hard, so I after some research I decided to try out this filter in addition to Malibu Blonde hair treatments. Three months later I am THRILLED to say that those highlights I paid that expensive colorist tons of money for are still there, still platinum, and still looking super natural exactly like I wanted! I haven't had to go back to the colorist since, they have stayed so "true!" Not only has my blonde been "fixed," but my naturally thin, unmanageable and friz-prone hair is now soft, supple and even a little bit shiny (never in my life have I had shiny hair!). It doesn't end with my hair either--my skin is much softer and more supple without all the chlorine, so much so that my husband even noticed and asked if I "bought new lotion or something?" No new lotion--I barely need skin lotion at all anymore, despite the frigid temps over the past few months. I CANNOT believe the improvement in my life since installing this thing, and even though these replacement filters are pricey, I will be buying one every 3 months as long as I'm able. I wish they made one for a bathtub faucet so my kids could use it for their baths! As soon as they are old enough to take showers, I will definitely be buying another Jonathan water filter!

I started using these filters after my hair was falling out and hair was turning a slight orange. This didn't help with the hair falling out but definitely cleared up the yellowing/oranging of my hair. Also, It makes my hair super smooth. Makes me feel good about not putting extra "stuff" in my hair that is found in tap water.I know these are the replacement filters, but the whole system in general is super easy to put on the shower spout and it has nice different options for pressure. I have had a lot of problems with past shower heads leaking at the connector and I have not had that problem with this and I have been using for almost two years now. The filter was super easy to replace.Only thing I would add is, as the instructions say, make sure you first run the water into a bucket or you will stain your bathtub with the Carbon that is in the filter.

I live in central Texas where the water is UNBELIEVABLY hard. After a few months of living here my skin and hair were completely dried out and destroyed. I thought this filter might help a little bit, and I think that it did... but not a WHOLE lot. In my case what I really needed was a water softener. I now have a water softener which really improved my water quality (but it is still not 100% good). I still use the filter, though I am not sure how much good it really does...

I have used this item in the past. But my last one should have been changed sooner because my hair started to become dry and my skin extremely dry. But after I replaced this refill, my hair immediately became soft and smooth again. Same with my skin, no drying feeling any more..But right after installing it (very easy to do), initially the water comes out has dark color, from the charcoal. You just have to let the water flush out until it becomes clear. It will continue doing so for a while, or sometimes. But that's okay.I used another brand before that was more than three times the price of this one. That one has exactly the same shape of this item. I don't know if they are the same products, or have the same contents. But both are good for hair and skin. Of course I will buy this one as the price is more economical.

Our water is not the best, public water, and we can't afford a whole house water filter. Jonathon Beauty Filter is remarkable and we saw results immediately, within 2 days. I realize there are many products on the market but consider this, purchasing a water filtering system is like buying steak. You're going to get what you pay for.This product, if found at a discounted rate is a steal. Would I recommend this product to a friend? Absolutely yes. And I have.You're going to pay a bit more but consider your condition. A few dollars more to make your condition better? Allow me to put it this way; If you were my wife and my desire is to see your natural beauty? Yes, I'm buying one for each shower head in our house. And I have.Your hair will feel cleaner, your skin will feel a difference. Please keep in mind this product doesn't replace your quality hair products or skin care but it helps immensely.

Water felt softer and better the first 2 days I used it (by the way, I have gone through 2 filters, so I have used this product for over 6 months). Maybe our water is simply SO bad and polluted (central NY) that it can't handle it, but my hair is very damaged. I don't use styling products, blow dry, heat tools, etc. Moved away from a place with softer water (about 4 grains per gallon)where my hair was soft, never tangled, smooth.... to central new york with extremely hard water (9 grains per gallon) and chlorine, and my hair feels dry and crispy even when wet, constantly tangled and breaking. I guess the water is too much for the filter, but they should at least publish some guidelines. I don't want to waste my money.

It's a great product, but I wish it had some type of gauge to determine when you need to change the filter. It's all guess work.
