Can be used with one hand and super easy to maneuver. Helps make soup amazing! And works amazing even after over a year

This is one of those products that clearly wasn't tested for real world use. Does it do what you expect a stick/immersion blender to do? Yes! Very well, in fact! No complaints. But it is impossible to clean underneath the blade. I use this for things like hummus and to blend soup. Running it through the dishwasher or rinsing/soaking it isn't enough when there are things that are inclined to stick like tahini or blended vegetables. There's not enough space between the blade and the blade housing to get anything else in there OR to even see it clearly. I have to take a pipe cleaner and peer through the holes in the side in order to truly clean the blade. I try my best to clean it immediately. But seed paste has to be scrubbed off, not rinsed off. And no normal kitchen tool can reach under that blade. What the hell Cuisinart? You've been making small kitchen appliances for decades. What's with the amateur design?!

When the motor in my first Cuisinart stick blender finally burned up after 15 years of use, I decided to do a lot of research and read lots of reviews before purchasing a new one. I read consumer digests of stick blender reviews, I read on Amazon , about many different brands, and finally after all that, I settled on a Cuisinart again. Here is why. My first one lasted 15 years, I wish things never broke down and I do plan to try to get my old one fixed and then donate it, but 15 years seemed like a pretty good track record. I have other Cuisinart appliances that have also done well. I picked the red color and although it looked very maroon in the image on Amazon, it is a perfect red, not fire engine red, not too orangy, just a deep red with a hint of maroon. Perfect for me! I saw that people had complained about the safety button, but I am thrilled. I took the tip of my finger off with my previous Cuisinart stick blender when I kept it plugged in while cleaning the blade (Yes, I know, how stupid of me!) and my other hand accidentally hit the on button. Although I now always unplug it, this safety button would have prevented my accident. It is not hard at all to hit the safety button while hitting the on switch and it it keeps anyone from taking off part of a finger, it is a welcome addition! And unlike my old one, this has two speeds. So far I am very happy with this indispensable kitchen tool.

I wanted a blender with decent power to allow me to blend soups. This one definitely does a great job and I really appreciate the fact that the blender head clips on so gears connect properly eliminating any chance that your spouse will strip the gears. : ) As has been noted by others, you do have to engage a safety button as well has the on/off button which is a hassle. I also found the unit a bit bigger and heavier which takes a little to get used to because its a corded product. The speed setting dial is great. Overall, a great product.

there is a new added locking device button that you need to push at same time as the blender on button which makes it a pain in the neck to use now!
