does the applicator on the top knob, can you turn it to soap then to clear water or is it soap all the time until it runs out of soap.

The knob on the top can turned to "water only" or to "soap and water". If you are using this applicator on an outboard motor, you should shut the motor off before turning the knob just as a precaution so that there is always water going into the motor.

My applicator knob on top does not turn and it feels like i am going to break it. whats wrong? am i supposed to loosen the screw? this is brand new ay

The knobon top doesn’t turn easily. I’m a large man an I have extreme challenges turning it. It’s to the point I’m loathe to make any adjustment.

The markings on the plastic go up to 4 ounces but the entire capacity is 5.5 ounces

You should be able to control the amount of water going into the system by the knob on the back.
