Looks n' Style vs Safety /Looks and style unfortunately win.
I wanted a retro helmet and this one matches the color on my cafe racer almost identically.....I own a Biltwell Gringo but recognized that it's not exactly the safest lid on the market...I, therefore, looked for a more suitable lid and was willing to pay the money necessary to obtain better safety ratings/ features....I was overjoyed when Bell released new retro type colors for this model since the original TT model looks like a target on the side which is a little too ironic since we already feel like a target sometimes when riding roads with lots of cars...... First thing I realized It has a great field of vision vs the Gringo, however, the chin bar is less than 1/4" from my chin..and the way the ear pad inserts that are comm capable sit (who the heck would put a com on a retro helmet??? ) fold my ears downward when I put this snug fitting lid on.......this requires me sticking my fingers through the face opening to adjust the tops of my ears..... For the record, I don't have large ears and my 59MM intermediated oval shaped melon fits the Large near perfectly so I was surprised to learn that I now have this ear issue...not a big deal but its kind of annoying...As far as the visor goes don't be surprised if you get a clear bubble when the photo shows something else.....It's a fiberglass shell which is great and the chin bar has a foam backing for safety vs the gringo which has done strange gel stitched in and serves no safety purpose ......It's probably the safest full faced retro helmet on the market (which doesn't say much since the market is small) but IMO its a little high priced since its still VERY NOISEY at higher speeds and most helmets in this price range are pretty safe and relatively quiet.......
