Great dash cam. Simple, no frills. Perfect for an 89 year old !! I got it to sync with my phone so I can review my trips. I love it !!

The icy roads in Texas and massive car pileup made me so anxious. I like to think I’m a wonderful driver, but I can’t control everyone else’s vehicles... so I decided “as an extra layer of protection on the road, I’ll buy a dash cam.” I did some research and decided Nexar was the product I wanted. Shipping was fast. Setup is *very* simple; practically everything is done in the app on your phone - just need to make sure the camera is plugged into the power supply and that it’s connected to the app. The camera quality is said to be 1080p. The ads make it seem like you’re going to get crystal clear picture quality and that’s not quite the case. The picture quality is not as sharp as the advertisements, but you can still make out most details (can’t read license plates, but you can make out just about anything else). I do really enjoy that the picture quality is still as good at night as it is during the day. I *highly* recommend buying some heavy duty double-sided mounting tape though. The camera does not suction well to the window AT ALL. Outside of that, I’d recommend this as a good purchase! I managed to convince a friend of mine to buy one, and she loves it!

I hate this thing. It's totally frustrating. I get it working and recording and I can view videos, than I forget about it. But when I call it up, there are no videos and it wants me to re-pair. Screw it. I've done that 3 times now and here it is again with no videos and wants me to pair again. All it is is an obstruction of view in my way. I spent $300 to have it professionally installed so that there are no wires. It looks great but was a total waste of money.

The app has a draconian permission requirements, without allowing wifi, Bluetooth, GPS, and file data access - you cannoy use the app. Without using the app, the GPS unit is not recording anything. I have started noticing the importance of these issues when i just wanted to see the video alignment of the camera when i installed it at first. I was so surprised that in order to just view the camera live feed i have to provide WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and File permissions. Then, you have to have the permissions enabled and allowed when driving around, AND you have to have your phone on, with the WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS all turned onz in order for the camera ro record anything. I found out that to be a serious design flaw, because i installed a 256GB SD Card in the camera, but it does not record directly to it. I wanted to view a couple seconds of my drive right when i witnessed an accident, and I was so alarmed to find out I have no acccess to the recording because my phone's wifi was not turned on while i was driving. The accident parking monitor is only good to alert you to an issue if and when you start the app, and have the WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS on. Then it takes about 5 minutes to download the "incident" video to your phone. I've had 2 incidents so far. But it does not highlight at what point of the video you should pay attention to. I just watched two incident videos where a cloud passed over the sun. I have several driving recordings that are showing up in the app, but i cannot play or download them. They show up as 0:00 in length. I suspect that the camera corrupts the files and makes it unviewable. Lastly, when i reviewed the Android app on Google Play, mentioning the excessive app permissions and thats its a privacy concern, the developers confirmed what i suspected. they replied back stating that all the information is collected and uploaded to their servers, but is "annonmized" before hand. Which essentially is another way of saying that they have access to all your video and sound recordings, your WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS information, and location history, and they use it for purposes other than provide you "cloud" services. I am 100% sure they sell this information to (insurance?) Corporations and the like. Botton line, not a real 4K camera, bad app, bad user experience, and highly not recommended.

I purchased this as a gift for my fiance, and he cannot stop raving about it. I saw an ad about this camera on Facebook, and decided to take the plunge. Someone recently hit my fiance's car, and having a dash cam offers a bit more peace of mind in case something like that happens. He was able to get the camera set up quickly, and link it to his phone without issues. The video quality is amazing, day or night, and he's able to record long periods of video without needing to clear out the camera memory. The camera will also overwrite old footage if it runs out of storage, without needing to be manually cleared. He is absolutely obsessed with this, and is so happy with this camera so far. Hoping to get one for myself when it finally comes back in stock! Update, July 2022: I ended up buying myself a dash cam, and it paid itself off earlier this year by catching a hit and run driver! My car was parked in a parking lot and hit, and the person drove off. There was very obvious damage to my door and it ended up being an expensive fix. My dash cam turned on and caught the license plate, car color, and car type clearly during the night. We were able to find the driver and they were held responsible for the damages they did to my car. I also bought one for my dad, who is very excited to learn how to use his. This little dash cam is great, and I am so happy we have them for our vehicles!

Very hard to beat Nexar. This is the second camera I have bought with them. Streaming the videos directly to your phone and uploading them to their cloud is seamless. After using other dash cams with SD cards and internal storage, I will never go back to those models after using Nexar. Hassle free and easy to look up any recent drive. The image quality is superb. The sound on the videos can be a little hard to understand at highway speeds >60mph but I feel like that has more to do with my cars ability to block out road noise, not the camera itself. Decent sound quality comes through at <50mph. Grab this camera when they go on sale and you will not be disappointed. Oh, and did I mention it takes less that 10min to install? The tool it comes with to help hide the cable is excellent. Tip: I would recommend using a good glass cleaner and getting your windshield VERY CLEAN using 1 or 2 microfiber clothes before installing (Second cloth to ensure all the cleaning product is off and the windshield is dry). This will ensure you get a great picture in your camera and other lights when driving at night won't have as much deflection.

When I first got the camera, it was pretty good however, the floss begin the show up soon after and I mean very soon. Sudden Glitches The recording quality can be very terrible one time I was driving on interstate 19 and the camera decides to glitch out half the time and it’s not like a couple seconds. It’s like a couple minutes that was glitching. 🔼 and when I went to record at the time the new 6th St., Bridge in downtown Los Angeles as soon as I went in the bridge, it decided to glitch when I come back One year later to drive on the bridge, the video glitched out again. The camera can skip Frames When my drives are longer than a minute, the video can start skipping frames, which is really concerning because if this wasn’t an accident, I would have no way of knowing who is at fault for the accident And the dash cam would not help at all. God awful audio I don’t know what to say To describe the horrible audio The dash cam recording quality at the very least it’s garbled. The quality of camera is like having a phone from 2008 but even more inconvenient. Side note: I wish that the camera would save onto the SD card as a recording because when I do go to the website to grab a recording of my drive, it’s only available in snippets of 10 seconds and I much rather have one large file At the end of the day, the camera can be good. It does record fairly good nighttime recording and also the video quality Of the camera when it works it is Very clear minus the audio And I like the fact that I get unlimited cloud storage, however I’m thinking of getting another dash cam because this did not satisfy my expectations.

Great little camera. Clever use of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to talk with your phone and upload drives and key moments to your phone and the cloud. However, this can use your battery power and if you don’t charge your phone as you drive, this might be an issue. My only other issue is that sometimes drives don’t appear on your phone. They’re all saved on the Micro SD card, so it’s not a major problem. Overall though, it’s neat and discreet, which is what I was after.

Pros: The video quality is really good. The Nexar app is very user friendly and records all the trips automatically once you sync your phone with the dash cam. You also have an option to select memory space on your phone to store the videos. This buy is spectacular value for money. GPS an added bonus in case your car lacks Apple CarPlay or Anroid Auto. Cons: Not sure how useful is the parking feature since it records the car front once collision or disturbance is identified. Overall an amazing product , Cheers

Devuelvo el articulo porque me interesaba tener un almacenamiento en la nube como se anuncia en la descripción, sin embargo, el artículo es de excelente calidad, pero el acceso a la app Nexar es imposible ya que no hay cobertura en México para el almacenamiento en línea de los videos que va grabando el dispositivo, solo se grabarán las imágenes y video de manera local. El código SMS que se requiere para acceder a la aplicación no es generado, el servicio al cliente es súper rápido, contestan en inglés, pero solo confirmaron que México no tiene la disponibilidad de almacenamiento online, este era para mí la justificación de la compra y lo que marcaba la diferencia con otras cámaras disponibles en el mercado.

I looked at a lot of reviews before buying this and a lot are negative to say the least. But I have had not problems with connectivity between camera and iPhone. The app is clear and easy to use. The video and sound quality are very good. I like the fact there is not screen on the camera less distracting.
