Buyer Beware
CD arrived in a small sleeve and was scratched. I haven't been able to use it due to the scratch - which is quite deep and was there even though I took the plastic off the cd.

Ignore the pronunciation grading app at Chrome
I have no plans to visit Egypt, but I want to read Naguib Mafouz's books without having to look up all the dialog, word by word, so I was interested in at least an introduction to Egyptian. The Rocket Arabic course offers far more than an introduction - there's a mass of the spoken language, if not much grammar, which seems pretty easy after some MSA. I skipped ahead from Module 1 to Module 4 (which has a lesson with Naguib Mafouz in the title) and decided to finally try out the Chrome version to see how it graded my pronunciation. The app graded my MSA at 100% (set on Hard), but routinely flunked my Egyptian (around 30%) - it wanted quhlumu ruhsuhsun, not alum whatever for pencil. So I'm going back to Firefox and not worrying about the pronunciation, beyond trying to mimic the native speaker as closely as possible. Once I finish Module 4 I'll go back to 2 and proceed in order from there (happily skipping the lessons on numbers, which are absolutely essential when you're in a country but take an inordinate amount of time if you really just want a reading knowledge of a language). As far as recommending Rocket Arabic to a friend, it really depends on what they want it for. For tourism, definitely, for academic study, as supplementary material for whatever they're using in class - ask the professor, not me. I've forgotten what I paid, but it was reasonable, which is always an important factor. I'll probably sign up for Rocket Japanese when I'm finished with this course based on reviews for it.

Great Course for Eager Beginners Like Me
I'm just starting, but already this course is getting me excited about learning. The teaching style is easy to understand, and I enjoy the flow of conversation, and pacing of the course in general. After purchasing Rocket Arabic I immediately went and bought Rocket German and Rocket American Sign Language. So far I'm very happy with all three, and am excited to have unfettered access to this massive wealth of learning material.

Great for beginners like me
So far so good. I am absolutely loving learning arabic with what I would consider the best language tool online I've found so far.Enjoy if you can pay the price which is just a little over the top for me. But the content is so good that it could very well be worth it.

Rocket Languages Egyptian Arabic
Rocket Arabic is a wonderful language course. I am enjoying the learning immensely. I am finding that repetitive listening to the brilliantly laid out lessons firmly establishes all of the points contained in the lesson. I like it as the sentences are broken down to their basic components and then assembled back again. The process is a tremendous tool to understand and absorb the structure of the language. I am very fond of the Rocket Reviews taking them as mini tests to gauge what I have absorbed.Right from the start I began saying simple things having absorbed words and expressions that could be useful in many situations. This course is worth its weight in gold and upon completion I intend to go in for another language from Rocket Languages :o) :o) :o)from London, United Kingdom ★★★★★

Listening to the audio lessons is very boring. You hear someone saying something in Arabic
Listening to the audio lessons is very boring. You hear someone saying something in Arabic, and then they tell you what it is in english with a little bit of filler and sometimes a lame joke. There's too much english speaking in between the arabic, and after listening to it I don't recall anything from it. I then started doing some of the other activities and they're all very basic. This is much less advanced than Rosetta Stone. Rosetta Stone doesn't choose the most useful phrases to teach you when you start off, but at least it reinforces what you are learning in an easy way to pick up the language without a lot of filler talk in the language you already speak (english in my case). It's hard to motivate myself to listen to more of these Rocket Arabic lessons because they are so boring.
