What I needed for a project.
I always needed something to mark on metal and other items. It is easy to use and for the money it was a great deal. It comes with a holder. The soapstone is breakable, but the thickness is thin to fit in the holder.

Good Value, Must have for welders
All the items arrived without any breakage. Typical soapstone quality. But the soapstone "pen" holder is about as cheap and tinny as you could possibly construct. I'd rather use the stone by itself than use the "pen." tone is worth the price. TIP: Take your carpenter pencil and using some black electrician's tape, attached a chunk of this soapstone to the back end of the pencil so you have a convenient dual pencil for iron and wood.
