I would like to give you some tips if you buy this incubator. Not all incubators are created equal but you get what you pay for. After doing many different hatches with this incubator I found it was helpful to leave the shipping styrofoam on to help with insulation. Also the automatic turners are hmmm sub par and they just don’t give the eggs the efficient amount of movement. That being said I placed an empty egg carton underneath the incubator and let it sit at an angle and would move it back and forth two or three times a day. This helped tremendously. My last hatch was 27 out of 36. Also when you first load your incubator you might try and put a few extra in between the other 36 eggs. Don’t get carried away though, I only do about 6 or so. This helps when you go to candle your eggs on day 8, if you had some that did not take you can replace with the other obviously if they took. This incubator makes for an easy clean up and believe me that’s a plus. I’m thinking I might try and drill a small hole in the side and run some clear plastic tubing to the bottom watering tray that way I don’t have to open the lid to apply more water. Obviously I would seal it when I wasn’t filling it up.

Hey I'm happy though because I wired the motor to a timer
The fan was a bit loud. I installed rubber bushings which really helped. The turning motor was faulty, contacted seller and a replacement arrived within a week. Sadly the replacement didn't help... the control unit wouldn't sent current to the motor. Hey I'm happy though because I wired the motor to a timer.Incubator sets off an alarm when the humidity is to high or low, same with temperature. That I really like, that and there is a digital readout for temp/humidity.Would recommend. So far have hatched out a clutch of chickens, 96% hatched. Have muscovy ducks "cooking" as of now. Do recommend keeping the styrofoam packing and modifying it to keep in some of the heat to reduce wear on the heating element.

Get one that you don't need to open to add water. They are expensive.
I purchased this incubator about a month ago and as it is my first I have tested it several times without eggs. I have my first 18 eggs in and everything seems to be working as expected. The reason for only 3 stars is the method to add water is problematic. The only way to add water is to take everything apart and add the water. I am using an oil funnel with a long spout for this. The problem is that by the time I get it all apart, add the water and get it back together again the heat and the humidity have dropped. The temperature not so much but the humidity has dropped below 10% for a few minutes before getting back to where it should be. In the future, I plan to make a system so that I am able to add water to the unit without having to open it. I will add more after my first hatch and my modification. The plug is very loose as mentioned in another review. Not a problem in itself. It is a problem however as it resets the hours for the day. For example, my days of incubation would change to the next day at 6:00 AM. While adding water to my incubator at about 6:00 PM the plug dislodged and reset the timer to 6:00 PM at the start of the day. My timer is now off by 12 hours. This isn't too bad if it doesn't happen again. In the future I will add water at the same time I start cooking the eggs and when the timer resets it will only change by a few minutes. Update 4/20/2018 The first hatch is now complete. I had 2 eggs that were not fertile, 9 hatched so a 56% hatch rate of fertile eggs. I must have made a mistake near the end as 7 fully developed eggs didn't hatch, perhaps I didn't have the humidity high enough. The egg turner gave up the ghost right after the first hatch. Replaced with one from Tractor Supply, (model #6300). I using some flexible tubing and a hot water bottle to add water without having to open the incubator. It is a gravity feed system. I simply put 2 cups of water into the hot water bottle and hang it from an old tripod low enough the water doesn't flow. When the humidity gets into the low 40% range, I hang the water bottle higher and the water flows into the reservoir. I then refill the water bottle with 2 more cups of water and it rises to room temperature before I need to add more water in 2 or 3 days. Also, I don't think I got the humidity high enough after day 18 and that is why my fully developed eggs didn't hatch. Trying something different for my current hatch and will add more information and pictures when that happens on 5/7/18. For the problem with the power plug, I simply bent the tines where it plugs into the incubator a little, just a little you don't want to break them. Good luck. This is the most fun I have had in years and it is making me think outside the box a little.Update #2: The improvements worked great. Out of 41 chicken eggs, 4 were not fertile. Out of the remaining 37 eggs, 34 hatched, that is 92%, Very happy with that.Update 1/23/19: Still fun but I did have a problem with the unit. With 41 eggs in it, the control panel went dark and I lost all 41 eggs. I opened up the control panel and checked for loose wires or broken solder joints, found nothing. I put it back together turned it over and it was working again. I put 12 eggs in that hatched on 1/20. Of the 12, 11 hatched, number 12 wasn't fertile so a 100% hatch of viable eggs.On 1/22/19: I have put 41 eggs in again, I will post again after the hatch.

Great incubator.
Received the product on Saturday the 11th of Feb and made sure it was working. On the 12th we put 24 eggs in it. We have had 17 of them hatch so far. The only thing I have found the plug into the incubator is easily moved and have to be careful not to bump it.

Egg turner does not work.
Just received incubator. Ran for 24 hours and everything appeared to be working well. Put quail eggs in and tonight I realized that although the turner timer is working, the egg turner is not.... And yes, it is plugged in correctly. There's only one way to plug it in.

Okay but !!!!!
A couple of things right off that I find makes this incubator a 3 star. The motor is extremely noisy and loud and the plug does not fit correctly so if the incubator is bumped or slightly moved the plug falls out. It does not take much movement for it to fall out and reset so when putting water in guess what you lose your settings. I have 2 GQF incubators and a Brinsea so I am a bit spoiled and only wanted this for hatching quail eggs. I don't think I would recommend it but maybe I will change my mind after seeing how it works throughout a hatch.

Good quality for the low price
Works well, easy to clean compare to other one that I have. The egg turner seems a bit on the cheap side but works ok.Only complaint that I have is you have to open every two or three days to add water. Before next batch of eggs will drill hole in the top and add a small tube so that I can add water as needed with out opening the lid. The fan is a little on the noisy side but not to bad. It holds temperature very well.I have test compared with a know good thermometer and it is right on!
