Has anyone used this on a stainless barrel? I read it uses magnets in addition to the O-rings. Wondering if this causes any problems with stainless.

I here people say "It is not PURE stainless" or real stainless is not strong enough. Its a 416 stainless meaning it has carbon in it. It is ferrous. "Real" stainless or 300 series isn't magnetic at all. Gun manufacturers don't use it because it is gummy and does not hold shape as well. Its purpose is better suited for wear resistance on static non bearing surfaces. Remington found this out the hard way on their 1911 pistols.

What is the shortest barrel length that will fit the bore sight into the barrel. An NAA mini-revolver - 1-5/8" bbl? A Berreta Bobcat 2.4".

I have a Beretta 3032 tomcat and that barrel is 2.4" and it certainly does not fit. it extends 7/8 of on inch longer than the barrel. I think it would be safe to say It would be too long for your NAA Mini.

Will it work in the Ruger-57?

Don't see why not. It comes with adapter o ring for most any caliber
