Smoked some salmon on the BBQ, these worked great, and good value for the size of package. They are just loosely packed in the box though

The product seems to be Alder wood, and was decent when used for smoking Salmon. The problem lies with the fact that it is advertised a approximately 5 pounds, when in reality the entire shipment weighed 4 pounds, including the box. It is a long stretch of the truth to say that less than 4 pounds of the product weighs approx 5 pounds. I do not think this is a mistake, or an accident. In my younger days this was known as a ripoff. Be warned........

YES I said that, they were without any flavor, my take was they had passed their shelf life. usually y. uSPSou can as you know if you use aa smoker, you can smell the chips but these were sans any scent as in scentless no flavor etc... I returned all three boxes for a refund. I was hoping lol they would be great as I needed new flavored chips at the time. I will not order these again presuming they'll be the same i.e. without any flavor... might as well use cardboard that would have more flavor than these chips did which was none.

ALL THRE boxes arrived, after opening one I discovered they were stale as in past their shelf life. I opened the other two boxes and same thing, no flavor to any of the three boxes of different "flavored" chips. I do not recommend. To make matters worse thank you Prime, one of the three boxes that was returned Wass lost by USPS and my card charged again for not returning the third box. Not impressed with these wood chips or Amazon's recent change of how they handle their costumers, not impressed at all.

They're wood chips, what can you really review.So price is better than what you can find in your local store & you get more. But seriously the price is still a joke for a product that's left over from processing for whatever the primary use was. I wish they packed them in a plastic bag in the box, because the box will fall apart if you keep it outside in the grill storage area.
