Best router at this price range
It was a long road finding a good router at this price buy I finally landed on the colt and I'm glad I did. I went through multiple other just to have them overheat or fall short on what this router excells at. This one still gets hot but nothing even close to what most others do, I can still hold this one in my bare hands after a session in the shop. Great quality with micro adjustment is a big plus. If you've been shopping around for one like me give this one a shot!

Great product. Bought it as an entry level trim router… don’t think I’ll need to upgrade to anything else. Works great, easy to maneuver.

Where have you been all my life?
First time router user here. But seasoned handyman. So take into consideration when reading my review. My needs will be more on the basic side. I bought this router because I am changing out all those ugly 6 panel, hollow core doors in my house with new solid core single panel door slabs. I needed a router to mortise new hinges and other hardware for the doors. I also bought jigs made for this purpose as well. And this router works well with those jigs. It's smaller and lighter than full size routers making it easier to control when resting on top of a small plastic jig. I am sure I will have additional basic router needs for future projects. I bought this router because I'm a fan of Bosch tools.Pros: Value for the money, speed control, compact size and weight, availability of additional accessories (if needed), quality build, quality brand, easy to use, smart engineering, not very loud, nice long chord.Cons:1. With the base included in this purchase, I can't see the router bit very well when using. This makes viewing my cut line difficult, especially with the saw dust flying around. But I guess that can change if I add a plunge base accessory. For my hinge mortising project, I have found the jigs that I use to be ultra reliable. I don't need to be able to see the bit while it's cutting. And I get perfect results, despite not seeing the jig too well. So this really isn't that big of a con.Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase and feel quite confident this tool will last a long time and was a good value for the money.

Solid and useful
I use this product almost exclusively with a 45° chamfer but for the edges of plywood boards, and it’s working very well. The machine is solid and weighty enough to allow it to be easy to handle, but not so heavy it’s hard to use. It runs well and does not get hot, and the face plate is smooth and doesn’t leave scratches in my wood.A few things that don’t work perfectly - saw dust gets very easily trapped between the face plate and the body of the router. This isn’t a problem for functionality yet, but eventually I will have to clean it out before it starts to prevent accurate results. Also, the measuring system is not completely precise. There is a “micro-measuring” adjustment knob that helps to get things perfect, but it’s difficult to adjust the main measurement because of the twist-and-lock feature of the mechanism.Overall, I use it and it accomplishes what I need just fine. If I needed something very precise, I would probably spend extra to get a machine that could do it, but this router is a great price and works well for precise, but not overly precise, projects.

Best Price around for a solid workhorse
We run a commercial Cabinet shop and these routers run nonstop all day every day. Comfortable in the hand and a solid workhorse that lasts for years. This is literally half the price that my local distributors or even my Big Tool suppliers carry this for. If you're working with Laminate, this is the tool.

Strong little motor
So I have to first confess to returning this unopened. That is only because I found a close out deal locally on the same router. This is a hard working little motor. Again, it is a little motor so it does have limitations. Just take it slow and plan to make several passes and increase depth on each pass. I have become very comfortable with the router table over the years but this was my first hand/palm router. My second one, it is also a Bosch.
