Are the rabbits also used for meat?

Merino is a sheep's wool. Is it possible the OP confused it with Angora? Angora (rabbit fur) is not a likely choice for any sock designed for performance and durability. No rabbits were harmed in the making of these socks.

Are these socks comfortable for ladies with big calves?

These socks should be fine if you have large calves. They are easy to pull on and do not feel 'tight' at all. They are a bit shorter than I would have liked making them hit only about 3-4" above my ankles so shouldn't be a problem at all for larger calves.

How comfy are these? Are they itchy?

I found them to be very comfy and not at all itchy. However, I am never bothered by itchy wool...but I don't notice any itchiness in these. Just coziness.

Are they too thick? Will it be an issue to use high boots?
