Made in China, this lamp is inexpensive, and this shows as you install it: thin sheet metal, attractively finished. The plastic lens and outer ring (also thin sheet metal) are held in place by trim nuts which engage 3 posts around the circumference of the housing. These posts tend to get pushed off-center during installation, but the lamp can be assembled with little difficulty.(Cons) Few. They don't make 'em like they used to, at least for this sort of money, but this lamp will be screwed into your ceiling and spend decades there quietly doing its job. Lightweight build means it's hard to line up the assembly true, so the outer ring doesn't warp in some way. But it can be done with a bit of attention. Hard to know why they selected the odd GU-24 lamp socket they did, but they did. 2 of these 18W bulbs are included, and they are the other 'con' for me: the light is almost pink. If I hadn't just paid for these two hard-to-find bulbs, I'd replace them with a more natural version of 'warm'.(Pros) An inexpensive, easy-to-install lamp that looks great when it's up and running.Unlike other reviewers here, I do not get a lot of compliments from friends about this lamp every time they come over. This is because I'm distracting them with bourbon.

Bought this for a laundry room. Almost all lights are made in China now, but not all are made equal. I was pleasantly surprised that this one was above average quality and looked good installed. Lots of light when turned on, also. Biggest minus are the specialty bulbs that are required when the furnished bulbs die. I liked it so much I bought a second for a walk in closet.

These lights fit flush to the ceiling and the trim matches the rest of my kitchen. They (2) put out enough light to be able to read in any part of the 12 x 15 kitchen.I did replace the bulbs with daylight bulbs as I don't care for the warm that was furnished with them. Changing the bulbs takes a little getting used to, but is not difficult.Great product.

Everywhere else I've looked this fixture is 2 to 3 times more expensive and that's for an incandescent fixture. This is ENERGY STAR qualified and cheaper than everywhere else I've looked. Love the way it looks on my ceiling and gives off great light!
