Rubbermaid RM Console Combo (USB)

This added so much storage to my car. Especially helpful for passengers. Adds extra charging sites as well.

I bought this for my “new to me” three seater. One of the things missing in the vehicle is center cup holders. I saw this and thought it would be the answer I was looking for. However the pieces do not fit together and they slide all over. The top piece is very unstable, and there’s no good way to plug it in to use the USB inputs. Not to mention poor cord management. I expected more from Rubbermaid. I do not recommend this product if planning on using all three components together.

I have to say, I expected a better product from Rubbermaid. The 3 different pieces do not lock together and easily come apart. This makes it very difficult to use the features that they are supposed to provide. The rubber feet were missing on all but 1 of the legs. Needed a temporary console until we found something more permanent...but this is just junk.

I have a handicap van. So, the floor is about 10" lower than a normal van floor. Therefore, I needed something that had the drink holders a bit higher than those where the holders are right at floor level. Yes, this is a very inferior product; but as someone else said, the charging ports make it worth the trouble. That is, if they work, which mine did not. I love the design, however, perfect for my needs, and no coin holder. Most had that. I don't need that feature at all. So, I returned it and will order another one. It fits perfectly between the seats of my mini van and I'll just take care that it's not tipped over.Update: 10/29/23: I ordered a second one and the same problem exists as with the first being only one charging port works. . There are two charging ports. Only one works. This seems more than coincidental. I am calling Rubbermaid tomorrow to see if I'm missing something. Stay tuned for another update.Update: 10/30/23: MYSTERY SOLVED! I contacted Rubbermaid this morning regarding the non-working charging port. Rubbermaid referred me to Pilot Auto. Pilot Auto makes this product for Rubbermaid. I was told by them that the two charging ports are different. It you hold the unit just right in the light you can see that the one closest to the little blue light is labeled 1.0amp, whereas the other is labeled 2.0apm port. That explains it. The former has not the power necessary to charge an iPhone or an iPad. It will, however charge air pods. It will also charge things needing a mini USB cord, my Mother’s dumb phone, headphones, things like that. This tiny detail is no where in the product description and the item comes with no written literature inside the box. I hope this helps others.

Product fits well between the seats, provides extra storage and cup holders. Does need added ballast to keep it from shifting around.

Using in my 65 Chevelle wagon with bucket seats. Haven’t hooked up the USB plug but the arm rest works perfect. Very very happy.

Was very disappointed with this product. Made very cheap and falls over easy. Don't buy.

I read the reviews, but I still had higher expectations of Rubbermaid. It’s such a great concept, but the execution did not live up to the idea and purpose of the item. It comes in three separate pieces, which don’t make any sense when put together. They just kind of sit on top of one another loosely and come apart easily. The top piece, the one with the armrest and compartment, doesn’t fit on the base well at all. It was so bad, I returned it, and I will look for something else. It could’ve been great, but it wasn’t.
