Worked for me
I refinished the lower unit of an outboard motor by sanding to bare metal, applying an acid etching primer, then Samurai primer, and finally finish coats of Evinrude brand outboard motor paint. I was sure to shake the Samurai cans double the time they recommend both before and after mixing to hardener in to prevent problems. The paint generally went on well. There were some snotballs in the spray; not sure what causes them. After curing, these easily sanded away with 400 grit, leaving a smooth finish for the top coat. This primer is much glossier than other epoxy primers I have used. I appreciate that they include two spray tips, round and fan. The fan is perhaps a bit too wide. I was surprised that a can I mixed was still good to use the next day. While I was able to get an SDS, the company does not appear to have a TDS (Technical Data Sheet) available for it, so I still don't know if this is a DTM (direct to metal) primer or not. Overall, I am pleased with the product. We'll see how the lower unit paint job holds up.

Laughable product
I got 2 cans followed the instructions very carefully and BOTH cans were out of aerosol brfore i even got to spray a test strip. What a JOKE, i figured maybe the 1st one was defective but nope. 2nd can had zero spray and eventually after hitting the orange cap asduming it wasnt hit hard enough. It exploded right next to my corvette! I would reccomend burning your money instead of buying this product.

Doesn’t Work as Intended
Ordered 2 cans. Followed the directions on the label and the first can would not spray at all. I put the orange/red topper back on and gave it a second tap and the can separated. Clear liquid started coming out of the seam near the spray nozzle hole. So I grabbed the second can, gave it the ol’ slap, and it would only spray for a max of 3 seconds then stop. It would spray for about 3 seconds every 15 minutes. Don’t waste your money.

Press the spray applicator all the way down
Went on really well for me. It mixed easily by the directions, 1/2 hour between coats and pot life is several hours. Second coat seemed to take less paint. Won’t know more for s couple years. Need to press the spray button all the way or it spits globs of paint.

Horrible results
I've used 2-part before from other brands with great results but this was terrible. I got two cans, the first barely covered a sailboat rudder but it was just enough. The second can sprayed inconsistently after hitting the can hard twice and shaking the can for well over 5 minutes. It mixed inconsistently so some areas are still tacky after 5 days in the Texas June heat and sun. I can't sand it and this part goes into a close fitting box. It will glue itself in there if I leave it as is. Obviously it seems the hardener didn't mix well or even get mixed at all. There is no way to tell if you've hit it hard enough.

Not very opaque, dried like semi gloss
Coverage was below average. I was surprised by how red it was after paint had cured. The surface was what I would consider a semi gloss in execution rather than a matte finish as one might expect from a primer. I was able to scuff the surface prior to adding a top coat to achieve the tooth needed for good adhesion. Lots of spatter after the first coat.

Be warned
Can arrived dented. Followed the procedure for mixing and shaking the 2K epoxy. Worked great to do one pieces. Was moving to the next piece and it sputtered and stop spraying altogether. Switched to the other provided spray tip…nothing. Not eligible for return. Absolute garbage.
