Looks are Decieving...read the whole truth!
I must admit....I was NOT a happy camper the first time I put my weary head on this weird looking thing called a pillow! It is NOT soft. IT is NOT puffy! It looks like no other pillow you've ever seen...actually I'm not sure they should even call it a pillow! So why did I pay an expensive price for something looking so strange, you might wonder? I was totally and completely desperate! I have struggled for years to find a comfortable way to sleep. A pillow that would allow me to stop tossing and turning all night and might ease my neck stenosis night time pain. This literally is the last pillow I hadn't tried that Amazon carried....so I gambled. The first night, I threw it in the floor after about an hour, disgusted and vowed to return it the next day! It laid there beside the bed for about a week....then an amazing thing...I took the time to READ the instructions inserted I the packaging! Imagine that...reading the instructins! I read the clearly stated fact that this "system" would take some time to get use to. I read about the benefits it might have in store and I thought ok, I'll try it again. It took me about three nights to really sleep well on it; however, since then, it's been the answer I've searched for ! This pillow system is constructed for your neck curve to be in its best position. It cradles the neck area just right as your head lowers into the cavity created for it. Our heads are quite heavy actually and need proper alignment to keep our muscles from tensing and overworking . Well, this is great and I soon began to fall asleep faster and faster....but I usually turn in the night to one side or the other...so how does that work? The only side I've been able to sleep on for years is my right...if I slept on my left..it only took minutes before my neck and shoulder are extremely painful. Each side of this system is created so that your neck and shoulders stay aligned when you sleep on your side. The sides do NOT sink down from the weight of your head and therefore hold your head in alignment at the proper height. This also keeps the pressure off of your shoulder and arm. You'll notice a slight ridge of foam around the side sections. That ridge, for lack of a better term, allows your neck the same needed support with slight indention for your heavy head. You are perfectly aligned and sleep like a baby! I'm now waking in the morning realizing that I've been asleep on my left side with absolutely no shoulder or neck pain! I cannot say enough ...this pillow system has allowed me to regain a good night's sleep once again. It hasn't cured my stenosis but it certainly will allow me to put off any surgical solutions for some time. I learned a lesson here...read the instructions ...not all help is instantaneous. I highly recommend this pillow system for anyone having neck and shoulder pain that causes you to toss and turn. It is worth every penny! Now....I do hide it in the closet when I make the bed...because ...it still just looks weird ! The only tiny issue I have is this...I use a satin regular case over it...and it obviously doesn't fit well or stay on...but that is so minor I almost didn't mention. So, hey, Therapeutica...get your designers right on this...we ladies know that sleeping on your back is a good anti-aging trick..but when our faces do hit the pillow...satin is best. What about a specially designed satin cover that would kick this baby up to not only therapeutic ...but an anti-aging beauty tool as well! You'll love this pillow...give it a try and READ the in closed information! Sleepy in Texas!

LOVE it! AWESOME pillow!!!
I have sleep apnea and use an APAP machine and full mask. I've been using a CPAP contour pillow for the last couple of years, but my neck pain has become a daily issue. I used to buy a new CPAP pillow once a year when the pillow would break down and the neck pain would come back. But the last pillow I got only lasted a month before the neck pain came back worse than ever. Everyday I'd have pain and discomfort, neck would feel like it needed to be popped constantly, and it felt like something was grinding in my neck, and I'd have pain and discomfort between my shoulder blades as well. First night I tried this therapeutica pillow I immediately feel relief in my neck and between my shoulder blades. Felt the support in both my neck and in my upper back when laying on my back. And when I lay on my side my head feels supported and my shoulder that I'm laying on doesn't feel pinched anymore. If you sleep in one position (on your side) too long, your ear gristle may be a little sore, but as soon as you switch positions the discomfort goes away. I haven't had anymore pain between my shoulder blades, and the discomfort/pain in my neck has gone completely away. My neck still pops sometimes, but I'm not in constant pain like before. I've been telling everybody I know about this pillow. I think it's well worth the money, yeah it is kind of on the expensive side, but you definitely get what you paid for. Make sure you measure and get the right sized pillow, or it won't work properly. I have king sized pillow cases and there is room to spare in them. Very comfortable, the pillow works as advertised. I hope they last for years. I've been using mine for a week now and I LOVE IT!!! (I'm female, 5'9" tall, pillow size-Average adult: measurement from neck to shoulder bone is 6"). If you measure in between sizes, go with the smaller size. I didn't have any adjustment period (could be from using a contour pillow in the past).

The real deal & worth every pennyโฆ
First of all, this isnโt a marshmallow pillow, itโs a super comfortable neck brace that keeps your neck and shoulders aligned while sleeping. If you want a squishy pillow, save your money and head to MalWart. Thereโs a whole wall of them. I have hyper mobile joints and a super long neck. If my neck moves out of alignment at night, it will stay that way and give me crushing headaches. Pillows are a nightmare, especially the memory foam ones that start off firm but collapse as they get warmer. Latex does NOT collapse when it gets warm. Hence, all my pillows are latex now, even my body pillow. Theyโre expensive, but throw on a pillow protector and they will last forever. This pillow is firm latex, which is perfect, because even latex pillows can be a little too squishy to provide adequate support. That being said, itโs still forgivingโ I.e., I can lay on my back and read even on the high (side sleeper) side without pain. It DOES take practice to learn to shift the pillow side to side whenever I roll, but itโs worth it to wake without headaches. Plus, feeling the cervical support lock into place, even when side sleeping, is nothing short of ecstatic. FWIW, Iโm 5โ3โ with a very long neck, and the petite size fit perfectly for me. Also, many latex pillows will off gas, but these had no odor whatsoever. 100% with the price, just make sure you order the correct size (or consider removing/sculpting parts of the latex to better accommodate your needsโ I removed little portions to better accommodate my AirPods).

Not For People Who Move While Sleeping; Brought New Pain.
Have you ever wanted to ask yourself "Am I lying down correctly on my 100$ pillow?" Have you wanted to wake up in more pain because you rolled off the pencil thin back support that you must remain perfectly balanced on at all times? If so, this is the perfect pillow for you! This pillow feels, at best, perfectly neutral in terms of comfort when you lie down on it correctly. It's not uncomfortable or comfy, simply letting you lie down as though you weren't using a pillow at all. The issues begin when you aren't perfectly situated on their strange contraption of a head rest, and either too much or too little of your neck is touching the neck brace. After a few minutes, you'll finally begin to realize you are off by a centimeter and will start to ache. When you finally manage to hone in on where you should be and fall asleep, the real trouble begins. I got this pillow to help me stay asleep and stay comfortable in said sleep, because I frequently roll around when sleeping poorly. This pillow decides to make that even more so an issue, because if you roll off in the night, your shoulders are in trouble. I woke up with a horrible pain in my left shoulder, the kind that I've not had with any other pillow, and it's pretty clear why. Half of my body was supported by the pencil thin back support and the other half wasn't. This pillow might work if it had been designed with any thought in mind for people who don't sleep like the dead, but it wasn't. This pillow is also severely overpriced for the quality of the memory foam used. It feels EXACTLY the same as some of the 40$ pillows I've tried, and if you can't feel the 60$ difference, that's an issue. I believe the reviews mentioning that the foam gave in after a couple of months, because it feels cheap. Just not worth it. Pretends to be a smart design simply because it's unique, but unique doesn't mean it's great. Considering the lack of clones of this design, probably says a lot about its 'effectiveness'.

Better sleep for chronic neck pain. Great product!
I looked at the product for nearly a year before purchasing, trying to decide if it was a gimick or a decent product. Asked my new Chiro, and he said he sold them (not sure if same brand, but same style anyway) and fully supports use of them. I had surgery into my neck years ago, and have chronic neck and back problems as a result which have made sleeping a chore. This pillow does a great job of nestling the head just right for back sleeping and supports a more level neck for side sleeping. I am deaf in one ear as a result of my surgery so I have a hard time sleeping if my hearing ear isn't blocked off...I used to turn my head all the way to the side to sleep on my back, but this pillow comes up high enough I can rest my ear at a much less severe angle which is much better for my neck. I used to be a stomach sleeper which is horrible for the neck (and I will for sure have a migraine from that if I do now!) but since I've had this pillow I have not been tempted to move to my stomach. That is a HUGE plus for me! Make sure you measure ear to outer arm, I had my chiro measure me and for the most part I think the size is good but sometimes I feel as if the side support could be a bit thicker. That could be just my neck being tempermental, but curious what the next size up would feel like. Not sure if he measured just to my shoulder, but if you have thicker arms you might want to factor that in. Also, I was concerned if the foam would be too hard for side sleeping, but for me it has been "just right". It did take a while to get used to the pillow for back sleeping, as the neck support feels a little odd at first. But if you give it a week or two I think you'll adjust to how it feels. I just spent a week on travel without it, and missed it horribly! Adjusted right back into it for a solid sleep on my first night home, so I have def. gotten used to it! Overall I am very satisfied with this pillow. I gave it four stars only because there is no 1/2 star option (I whould have done 4.5) and I am curious about the sizing. Though I suppose it is difficult to be completely sure on that until you actually sleep on it. And too, it's made for a size range, so it may not be that it would be 100% for everyone. Not really a "fault" so much as just the reality of a product that has to accomodate so many different factors (body type, sleep style, mattress, etc.). And anyway, I would say my statisfaction is ~99% on that anyway, so that's not a significant 'ding'. For the pricing, I would give this 5 stars compared to some of the simliar products out there.

Alas- not the perfect pillow
And perhaps the only perfect pillow is one you can mold to your own specific requirements, but I thought this was the next best thing. The truth is that if it were returnable I would've returned it... but since it wasn't I went ahead and made my own adjustments to it. Pros: 1-vents that allow airflow and keep your head and face from getting too warm. 2-The sides of the pillow are the perfect part as far as I'm concerned. They make side sleeping comfortable and super easy. Just roll over to the side and you have a pillow high enough for side sleeping. The measurement you take mostly applies to the side panels..which is probably why this aspect of the pillow has the least complaints. 3-For most parts the foam is soft enough to be comfortable yet firm enough to keep your head from sinking too close to the mattress (as my previous tempurpedic pillow did). 4- breathable & soft pillow cover. Cons: 1- The neck contour is as firm as the rest of the pillow. I felt it pushing against my neck and the soft goodies inside my neck & throat (whatever they are) were getting squished. The human head weighs almost ten pounds and this is why a certain amount of firmness is good to keep the weight of the head from flatening the pillow down. But unlike the bony, heavy head- the neck is both both soft and virtually weightless. So the neck doesn't need that same amount of firmess. A much softer foam for that area would've been more comfortable while still being supportive. I brought the pillow to my doctor to show him and he agreed the neck cradle was pushing on my neck too much and it was throwing my head a bit too back. So be aware that different people will have different needs there. It seems that the measurement you take only applies to the size you need for the SIDE panels of the pillow and there's no way to measure what the person needs in the back of the head while back sleeping. I decided to copy the reviewers who mentioned they cut out the foam where neck support is. I went one step further and replaced it with a smaller foam cut out from my old much softer foam pillow and sewed that piece to this pillow. Ahhhhh. Now it's perfect. No more feeling my throat getting squished and pushed around. 2- The center cavity is a bit limiting. Which is a pro if you've had surgery and want to keep your head from moving, but otherwise it can be a bit restricting. The back of your head has to be on the deepest point of the cavity- If I want to move the pillow even just a tiny bit higher or lower I can't because it'll throw my head out of alignment. Unlike softer foam pillows this doesn't really conform to the shape of your head so much...rather your head has to conform to it's properties. It might have been nice if the center cavity had the best of both worlds: A firm foam base at the bottom to keep the head from sinking down too far towards the mattress and then a softer foam on top that sinks down and conforms to the head whenever you'd like to move the pillow a bit might've been the ticket. Conclusion: This may work for some and not for others. I would suggest sleeping on it for a few days with the plastic covering still on and a pillow cover over it so that you can return it if it doesn't suit your needs.

Therapeutica is the ONLY pillow I will ever use... been using them for 25 years!
I have ONLY used this style Therapeutica pillow for almost 25 years. I used to drive my mom to her chiropractor and he sold them. His staff would measure to ensure correct fit. Both my mom and the chiropractor are long gone... so I am very happy that the Therapeutica is sold on Amazon. The 5 year guarantee is accurate... these pillows hold up. Throughout the 90s I tried many other "ergonomic" pillows, some double the price, and none worked well or lasted. This one does. I was replacing it about every 4 or 5 years until the past few years... now I choose to replace about every 3 or 3 1/2 years because after an injury, I don't want to wait until it gets too soft... but that is just because I have medical issues. For years I used the "average" but after the injury that size did not seem to support my neck and I switched to the large and it is perfect. I hope they never stop making this pillow because it maintains a quality of life for me! p.s. Although mostly great reviews... there were some bad ones. I want to address a few of those issues. Everyone's body is different. This is a comfortable but firm pillow. That is not for everyone, just like bed softness/firmness varies... so does what works in pillows. The incredible support of this pillow comes from the unique shape. However, this takes some getting used to AND proper alignment. There can be a temptation to be a little lazy sometimes and roll over and be out of alignment with the pillow and not correct it. Don't do it. Consciously align yourself with each position change... it is like you are training yourself and it becomes very natural... second nature. So the person who woke too much because they frequently switched from side to side and hitting the middle dip in the process... they might have gotten used to it or maybe the pillow is not for them. I don't consider myself a light or heavy sleeper. So that might make a difference, I don't know. But for me... it became very natural to realign when I change position during sleep. I can feel just enough consciousness/awareness to realign, but not so much that it disturbs my sleep. Regarding the review that had a gross used pillow in a Mac box... don't know who re-sold that but it definitely did NOT come from the manufacturer... Core Products has always been professional. Regarding the pic where it is all torn up... what the h??? I don't know how that could even happen. I use the thermal fitted cover that comes with pillow. I gently remove and wash it periodically. Over that, I use a pillow protector that is changed every time I change the regular pillow case. I have NEVER had one of these pillows disintegrate or fall apart. So for the person who posted a pic of a badly damaged pillow... I am not sure how that happened but I suggest you contact the company for a replacement. The only time I ever had to contact them, their customer service was professional. The company had been bought out. Core Products had made some changes in material based on technology advancements. But I was feeling like the support wasn't lasting. They insisted their testing showed that it still held up, but they honored my request for a replacement. In hindsight... I will say it was probably me that changed. It was after my injury and, as I mentioned above, I changed size and that gave me the support and elevation I needed. But dealing with the company that one time, it was nice getting old-fashioned customer service... being able to reach the same person and not a call center. They were respectful and responsive. Hope this helps! And hope the pillow works well for you!

Caused severe congestion
I had a pretty severe reaction to this pillow. I wouldn't call it allergy, because i didn't have swelling or redness. Just extremely severe congestion at night. It took me a while to realize it was the pillow. I am allergic to latex but the description doesn't mention latex. But it is so so bad, I was miserable, started taking allergy meds, using nose sprat, becausei could not breatheat night, which was totally new. And then the lightbulb went on, and I thought it might be the pillow. A couple of nights without the pillow and my severe digestion was cured. I was so miserable! I let it air out several and got an allergy pillow case, and that helped, but I think the case will need frequent washing, and I may double the allergy pillow cases. Because I really do like the pillow, it's helped my neck and shoulder pain a lot. Hence 2 stars instead of one.

Best pillow ever - fixed neck issues!!!
I absolutely love this pillow! I have had neck issues for years. My traps were constantly rock solid and caused pain up the neck into headaches. I tried everything from physio, chiro, acupuncture. I saw this pillow recommended on a youtube video so I decided to give it a try. I have tried half a dozen pillows to fix my tight traps and sore neck prior and none worked. I can honestly say this was a life saver. I combined this pillow with a deep tissue massage and I noticed results in weeks! I will say, it comes pretty stiff and takes some getting use to, especially with the curve in the pillow which is intended to fit the proper curve of your neck. You have to sleep on your back for most of the night to get all the benefits but I do on occasion go to my side and the sides of the pillow are built to properly support your head. It mat take a few weeks to get adjusted but I will say that I canโt go back! I bring this pillow everywhere and its been a game changer for me.

The only pillow I can sleep on. Changed my life.
I have gone through over 10 pillows trying to find one that doesn't destroy my neck sleeping on multiple angles. This pillow has completely changed my sleeping posture and my neck is better than ever. I wake up every morning now ready to go no issues at all. The support is like no other, this shape actually makes sense to the human body. The back and side are significantly different and lying on my back I feel 100% supported. Make sure you buy the correct size! Measure yourself like the instructions tell you online. I was on the upper limit of the average and it tells you to buy that size if you are, sizing up isn't recommended. There was no smell at all when I got mine. It comes with a nice fitted pillow case and can also fit in a standard sized one but I really like the pre fitted one. Super plump has not sagged at all. Highly recommend though not for everyone, if you sleep on your front this will kill yo
