Q: Will this soap dish work in an RV where it gets really hot?

Pretty sure it will. I live in a trailer part of the year and it hasn't fallen yet (trailer gets hot when we are not there).

This is definitely not big enough or strong enough to use as a foot pedestal.

Q: Is this small enough to fit on top of an already build-in soap dish? Ours is flat, I wanted this to fit inside to keep the soap from falling out.

Q: Does the soap dish come with extra adhesive strips?

No, mine came with two strips and you need both for the dish. I received old ones that were no longer sticky so I had to buy replacements.
