2year Review
Microwave does not operate until you open and close the door (a safety feature if you have kids). It only start after pressing 30sec button or power then time. The older version any timer button would suffice and you did not need the door to be opened then closed again after the first timer cycle finished. The internal light is a warm light where a white light would be better. The fan also does not extract the steam that well so make sure to wipe with a dry cloth/paper towel. The good parts: loads of space, but element could be higher as e.g. pre-cooked rice (Uncle Bens etc.) does not turn in the bag as it gets caught between the grill elements above (not so good I know) but (marginal). I can fit my Sistema Rice Cooker in it easily, hight and width wise. Fairly easy to use and clean. Loads of cooking options. Was reasonable in value in its class at time I bought it 2 years ago and still going strong. [Touch Wood]. Hope this helps someone out there ๐ฝ.

Works for me and has many functions
Very easy to use, has many different functions to choose from and I like the grill option, it's really worth the money and it's easy to keep it clean. It's large enough to make a meal for a few people and looks very stylish, I like the touch pad style which is better for my Osteoarthritis.

Effective microwave - but a minor fault after 4 years results in total failure.
This was purchased to replaced an ageing 750w microwave/grill. Rated at 900w this microwave is far more powerful than that it replaced, although the grill doesn't seem to be quite as effective. The design is almost identical to a Panasonic microwave that we had 20 years ago, but which lasted very well. The oven itself is cavernous, and will accommodate the largest of dinner plates on the turntable. The Achilles heel of this machine is the control panel. Front mounted it features a pressure membrane which is less than sensitive and the control buttons themselves are extremely difficult to read, particularly in poor light. You can use either Microwave mode, Grill mode, or a combination of both. Whilst there are a number of options, most require a number of key presses - although there is a leftover from our old Panasonic which isn't publicised too well - press the start button without making any other selections and it will activate the microwave on full power for 30 seconds. Press it, say, 4 times in quick succession and it will run for 2 minutes (4x30 seconds), and so on. That does save a bit of time! Post edit - 4 years later..... the digital clock is failing. Gradually elements don't work, which means that shortly the microwave will be unusable. But this must be a simple plug in module surely - so contact Sharp for details of a servicing agent that I could pay to repair. Sharp's comment - "the microwave is beyond economic repair". So a perfectly good microwave will be going to the tip simply because the part that tells you what it is doing has failed? That is enough to stop me buying another from this maker.
