Philips DS8900/37 M1X-DJ Sound System Docking Station and Bluetooth, White

First off, I've never owned any Philips bluetooth portable speakers before so I was slightly worried about the performance of this product. As being an audio enthusiast and a novice music producer....I've been looking for some portable speakers that will perform well. Once I finally got the speakers...I was completely amazed of how crisp and clear the audio was. Even at high volumes the music sounds really clear. I've only experimented with EDM (and all sub-genres) so I haven't tested out this speaker system yet with other forms of music. All the highs, mids, lows sound awesome, there's no distortion even with songs that have a lot of bass in the them. I noticed that when I plug in my phone directly to the unit, there is somewhat of an auto limiter built in the controller....because when I use bluetooth I've noticed the speakers can produce about 2 db higher. So far I havent had any problems with the bluetooth connection...its pretty simple to set up, simply hit the bluetooth button on the unit and go to your bluetooth settings to connect. I also noticed that the volume drops a little bit when using batteries versus the speaker system being plugged in an outlet, but it's not much of a drop in volume. Also I don't know how long exactly the batteries will last, the longest I've had the speakers on is for 5 hours straight so far and the batteries are still good. The controller for "DJing" is very nice and all the noobs are sturdy and secure. The controller syncs well with the DJ app and I have had no issues thus far, the only minor thing is to make sure you turn off the limiter on the app so you can reach the full volume level. Now, in my opinion, this speaker isn't really meant for serious DJ gigs, it's more for having fun at a family/friend parties. If you're someone that is looking to get serious with DJ'ing then I would recommend other controllers. So to wrap it up,this speaker system is WELL worth the money...the audio reproduction from this system is superb for EDM and sounds A LOT better than the Beats portable boombox. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that wants an awesome quality portable bluetooth sound system.

Smaller than expected. Needs to be louder

Warranty thru Phillips was hell. I kept the unit and used it as a bluetooth speaker. Now the bluetooth stopped responding. The button to activate it is stuck and cannot be pressed. Now it is a giant doorstepUtterly dissapointed. I must now be careful when buying from amazon if they don't handel the returnsFinal update:It was not a problem with ios but with the unit. Amazon only has a 30 day return on it. So I must now go thru Phillips. Now it only recognizes bluetooth. DJay is unplayable as the software does not recognize the unit. I have tried an iphone 5s and an ipad mini to no avail. There is practically no info on forums as very few people have this unit. I am utterly disappointed. I also own the DDJ Wego2 from pioneer and it is working perfectly.If I get a fix I will update again.I lowered my rating to 3 stars as it is a good quality bluetooth option but it was not the purpose of this purchase.__________________________________________________________________I was very excited that the M1XDJ arrived. I opened it, powered it on, connected my ipad mini (had to remove the ipad from the case) and it instantly recognized the correct equipment when I opened DJay 2 ( if you don't have DJay 2 and don't plan to buy it, don't get this system ). Seleceted a song from spotify and could not get it to work. So I listened to a song from itunes and put the volume and fader at max volume and my wife turned around and said "that's not too loud". Of course I was very dissapointed. I started looking at the settings on DJay and found a volume limiter which was on. So I turned the limiter off and it did make a difference. Now you could really hear the sound!!. I tried spotify again and it was choppy. So I pulled out my DDJ WEGO 2 and plugged in the ipad mini and spotify worked great!!. So I closed all of the apps in the ipad, powered it down and tried again. Spotify worked great!!, itunes worked great!!Now I am very happy with my purchase.The ipad charges while I use it (original ipad mini)It also works great with the iphone (5s)Turned the cover over and bluetooth worked flawlesslyIt does not matter how you place the top it works perfectly on both sides ( I mean that the speakers can point at you or away from you )In the box you get the strap, AC plug and a 1/8 to 1/4 gold plated adapter - thanks!!!The AC plug is similar to the ones on CDJs so it it pretty standard, I mention this because the ac plug on sonos speakers is propietary ( I hate it )It has aux in and aux out 1/4 on the DJ sideIt has aux in and aux out on the bluetooth sideMake sure you reset your ipad before the first use!!After I do a gig for a few hours I will post back

Love the concept and portability. Like many, I owned a boom box of almost similar size in the 80s. Using the iPad djay app, I enjoyed the M1X for countless hours and loved this unit until the first time I attempted to use it with the alleged 8 D Cell battery power only. I got nothing. Its portability then became too limited for my purposes.I submitted a warrantee claim to Philips and was eagerly looking forward to a replacement. After I had been led to believe the defective unit would be replaced, two months later, I was informed the M1X was no longer being manufactured and would therefore be issued a refund. After multiple emails, my refund check finally arrived over three months later. During this waiting period, I continued to use the unit with the power cord, until the power button failed and I could no longer turn it on.I wish it would have worked out.

Just want to know how many watts speakers

IT IS SO AWSOME . ITS LIKE BRINGING A DJ BOOM BOX TO A CLUB TO ROCK THE PARTY WITH A SOUND SO BIG YOU CAN DJ RIGHT ON YOUR LAP IN FRONT OF ABOUT 100 PEOPLE.WHEN I START PLAYING THEY START DANCING AND DONT WANT ME TO STOP BECAUSE THEY CAN FEEL THE SOUND THUMPING LIKE A REAL BIG PARTY. Like it..easy to use..

1) does not work with new USB-C interface. ANYONE help me on this front, what adaptor do I need? I bought a male USB-c to female Lighting adaptor from Amazon, but no love.2) mic jack is useless, logging on Philips website says you can only have the IPad as the source OR the mic, not both, this alone will make me return unless someone out there has a workaround.

We plug the machine for an outside Event and it never worked/Start the machine shall be replaced, please help me with Warranty
