Alienware AW17R4-7005SLV-PUS 17" Laptop (7th Generation Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD, Silver) with NVIDIA GTX 1060

So far this laptop has met all of my expectations. I bought it to replace a larger gaming laptop and I can honestly say I enjoy the features alienware provides.Display quality - I love it. I've had no issues with it so far. I've watched movies and gamed and had nothing but vivid colors.Graphics card - so far I've thrown a number of games at it and it tears through them. I generally play games at 1080p, but when games allow it I can run 1440p or 4k and it will downscale it to 1080p for crisp visuals. Works in games like skyrim. Speaking of games - I've run skyrim 4k, Doom, GTA 5, Sniper 4 and a number of other games at max settings and 60+fps. By the way...g-sync is awesome.My only gripe is the minimal USB ports. Normally it would be battery, but the battery is surprisingly good for a gaming laptop. Movies and light use will get me 4+ hours. Gaming about 1.5 to 2 depending what I'm playing.Would recommend this to anyone... p.s. love the led lights.Oh and get a cooling pad. Fans are on the bottom and it needs to be vented for gaming.

After many years of building my own custom desktop rigs for my friends and I this is my first personal laptop purchase. Weeks of research led me to finally deciding on this 17" Alienware R4 system. I am blown away by the amount of power and performance Alienware has packed into this mobile laptop system.This gaming laptop is solid, stylish, fast and loaded with a host of fantastic customizable features. Keyboard layout is perfect with large letters and symbols. The sound and video is top notch. Heat has not been a problem for myself and battery life is excellent considering the amount of hardware this laptop is running. I will be recommending this laptop to my friends and family looking for power and performance in a mobile package.I have nothing negative to say about this laptop. I would advise Amazon customers check the Alienware website before ordering on Amazon. I was a little bummed out to find out after I ordered from Amazon that there were more options and a cheaper price at Dell. Needless to say Amazon has been the safest online shopping experience for me and my family so I will stick with my decision.

If you don't want headache do not buy this computer or any other alienware laptop. XPS laptop also do not buy. It is not anymore xps as it was before. Dell company will probably go buncropcy. Alienware laptops heavy as tank but made so cheap that every week you will have to reinstall Windows, bios drivers, robin eye tracking and so so much more that will change your mind about Dell and probably go to another company. When you buy laptop from amazon or any other vendors not Dell, you will have to register with Dell and you can not use Dell update drivers support site more then 2 weeks. This is so stupid since I can't update new system with drivers I need for programs to run and especially if you need to reinstall your Windows on a new drive, for example ssd drive, your cloned drive will nit work as c: drive because this computer built as a server ripe mashcine. You will loose your operation system but this computer does not come with reinstall media of any type CD or USB. and you have to wait more then 2 weeks for your service tag to appear on Dell supper site that you can download image CD to reinstall your system. This is most stupidest thing Dell could do but this is their policy. And even you will install your own Windows 10 / 10 pro the drivers will be different for each system even if it is the same model. I use Dell laptops since 1999 and I was only buying Dell, reliable, strong, never had a problem I use to have many Dell laptops. Now I am warning you you will not enjoy Dell products anymore. I am writing about laptops, not sure about Dell desktop computers. I will put this review all over the web for people to know that for so expensive machine you will get not only cheap and heavy box but also anger, not sleeping nights and calling mostly every day to worst computer support company. Without any success or resolution of the problem. So please think twice, this company is not anymore an option. It is up to you to take a chance and throw out your money after reading my review and my experience.

Beautiful and sturdy at the same time, the lighting on the LEDs are extremely easy to customize and are very vibrant. Great packaging and arrived in perfect shape. I was able to run (Rise of the Tomb Raider, Witcher 3, Resident Evil 7, Doom, and Dying Light) all well above 80 FPS on High/Ultra. The fan noise is somewhat loud, but the pitch makes it pleasant, similar to a hybrid car idle. Heat dissipation is very effective, after running heavy games for over an hour it kept comfortablly cool near the vents, keyboard and palm rest. The only part that got hot were the bottom vents but a laptop cooler would help with that immensely. My only complaints are the Toby Eye tracking is gimmicky, maybe it just needs an update on my part, turned off. Also I ordered with one day shipping and received it in 4 days. Not a big issue, Amazon customer service was very helpful and issued me a full refund for the shipping. The screen is beautiful and one of the sharpest and clearest IPS displays I've ever seen. I recommend getting more storage space though if you plan on using for gaming or video rendering. 128gb boot SSD is definitely not enough, I recommend an additional 500gb SSD for gaming, along with the 1TB HDD.

Showed up broken, couldn't even boot past bios no matter what, made a Windows recovery tool and even that wouldn't work.
