I have two of these on a heavy Andersen full glass storm door. It slams shut then bounces open and then takes forever to close - anyone have any tips?

With the door shut and the closer attached at the door jamb but not attached at the bracket on the door there should be about a 1 inch gap. In other words you should have about1 inch to pull on the closer to pin it at the door. This will allow the door to close slowly to about a inch before the closer "lets go" to close the final inch. It will close quietly and and smooth.

Looking for an Anderson top door closer that is 9 inches in length (main cylinder end to end measurement)...is this available?

Most door closers are universal size. Just the brackets might be different to the mounting holes but should be able to use the brackets from previous closer

What is the diameter of the pneumatic tube?

Diameter 1 1/2" Standard size, if that's helpful

When used as a replacement on a heavier weight Larson full view storm door, is it better to mount it at the top or the bottom position on the door?

I mounted the replacement on the top because my door is heavy as well. It works and provides a smooth transition to closing.
