Earth Talon Fiberglass Long Shovel Handle

I don't dig a lot of holes these days, but I needed a shovel and bought this one because the ground here in Arizona is basically just rock, and this shovel looked hella wicked.Like I said, I don't really know a lot about shovels, but this one seems pretty lightweight, which I assume is good so you don't tire out quickly. The metal head part of it has a wicked off-center point, which means you're pushing it into the ground like you're stabbing it with a knife, applying pressure to a really specific point to get in there. Seems to work pretty well. And the top of it has sizable bent pieces to put your foot on and push.

I'm a senior trying to garden in heavy clay soil. Digging holes for large plants is both very physically taxing & time consuming. I was introduced to this shovel when a local garden center planted a tree for me. Using this shovel, the nurseryman easily cut through the sod & heavy clay underneath, creating a planting hole for the tree in about 10 minutes. Wow! I knew I had to have this shovel & was happy to find it available on Amazon. It arrived quickly & I am thrilled with the results I achieve using this shovel. I can now cut through sod & heavy clay without difficulty. In highly amended garden soil, it slices through like a knife in soft butter. Yesterday I planted 5 large ornamental grasses in less than 30 minutes. Just make sure to check with 811 because this thing can cut through your underground cables (near miss.) Saves wear & tear on my aging knees, well worth the price & highly recommended. Love this thing!

Used it to dig up a septic tank cover and it made digging easier than a standard shovel. I still needed a regular shovel to finish cleaning the dirt out as the end leaves too much dirt due to the gap at the point. I find this to be an acceptable tradeoff. Shovel and handle are very high quality.

My yard is full of roots & rock so I needed something that would take a good stab at it. I love that they made a small platform so you can easily stand on the shovel. Love this shovel. Only use my regular shovel now for light tasks like removing the ash from the firepit.Thanks Earth Talon!

This is a great product! It cuts through hard soil and roots like butter, just as advertised. Lots heavier than other shovels, but that makes it that much more durable! If you have a major digging project, this is the tool for you!
