Yes, but I would pass them by if I was you. They come apart to easily and are cheaply made.

Q: are BOTH sides ridged, or is the back flat?

the outer hard case...the top side has ridged and the bottom side is flat/smooth.

Q: It's as if we are all in a panic room? Has anyone actually verified these work?

I don't know if they work but I can tell you they will dent and break quickly

Q: Are these big enough to hold a Key fob?

NO, it is just big enough to put all your credit cards in it. A key fob would be too much because there are slots in these metal credit card holders. I hope this was helpful!
