Perfect size for a 12V 5ah battery, like the one I use on my boat to power my depth/fish finder. There are plastic ribs and ridges inside the box that keep the battery about 1/2" off the bottom and also keep it from sliding around inside the box. After you put the battery in the box, there's still some space at one end for extra cable, clamps, whatever. There isn't a lot of room on top, but it's sufficient for my flat blade connectors. And there's a notch along the inside top edge for your wires. I wouldn't call the box waterproof -- there's no rubber seal -- but it is certainly water resistant, and more than adequate for my use. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

I really like this little container, though I don't use it for a battery. I needed something in my boat to hold my documents for when I get checked by the Water Patrol. Needless to say, you don't have a lot of space in boats and you want to take advantage of all the room you have. I was able to mount this box without taking up a lot of room. And because it is compact, I was able to place it in a not highly exposed area. I like the fact that it is lockable, and from what I can tell, almost completely waterproof. I can't say for sure because I haven't had it out during a really hard rain. I keep my documents in a zip lock plastic bag anyway, so it really doesn't matter to me. All in all, a great price and I can recommend this if you need a small lockable box. Not sure how it would be for batteries.

Good! Kinda tight fit in there for a 7AH 12v but working ok!

I use external SLA batteries with my trail cameras and these boxes are perfect for shielding them from the rain. One caveat: A large, 12-volt SLA battery is too large to fit one of these, but 2 smaller 6-volt batteries fit perfectly.

Work perfectly!

This is a very dumb battery box and you should question your reasons for wanting it. Amazon sells small Plano boxes for $5 (B07RC83LTZ) that work much better as battery holders. This one is small (5.9'L x 2.6'W x 5"H interior dimension) the sides curve in, the plastic is the same used in cheap child toys and there are fins at the bottom that further reduce the usable space. My LiFePO4 battery ALMOST fit, only the spade terminal protectors kept the box from fully closing. Fortunately the top part of the bottom fins can be ripped out by twisting them with needle nose plyers (photo). Then my LiFePO4 battery fit very snugly inside. If you need to push it back out, you can poke it with a screwdriver through one of the drainage holes at the bottom. The plastic hinge will fail eventually from repetitive stress, so your use case should be that you get it the way you want and then leave it closed and fastened.

This little box is great, fits several sizes of batteries by removing tabs inside. Has ore drilled mounting holes. Does exactly what I needed.

Matches the broken original

Now that I run lithium batteries this box worked perfect. With a minor change it took my starting battery. It's pictured. txs. Do you happen to have the a box that fits battery YTX20L. If u do i'll buy 2

Exactement ce que j'avais besoin pour installer une batterie sur ma souffleuse à neige, bonnes dimensions, j'ai attendu de la recevoir avant de commander la batterie pour m'assurer que les dimensions internes soient correctes. La batterie aurait pu être plus large d'environ 1½ pouces 6" max au lieu de 4.49", hauteur max 5.20" et épaisseur 2.72"

Product seems fine but time will tell. I did find that the inside dimensions are very different from the outside dimensions so I had to "Customise" it a bit for my battery. Over all it seems fine so far. You will need a lock or a nut bolt combination to keep the lid closed though. It doesn't stay closed once you open it to fit the battery.

Price is right. Flimsy hinge, small piece of plastic as a hinge.
