Kwikset 99150-003 SmartCode 915 Touchscreen Electronic UL Deadbolt with Smart Key, Venetian Bronze

I was very skeptical to buy another Kwikset smart lock after the Halo. Kwikset has absolutely atrocious customer service. I spent $250 on the halo and it broke after a month…. The battery compartment melted and the power lock ceased to function. Kwikset refused to replace it even though I had it less than a year… I purchased this lock as a direct replacement solely for the aesthetic and the easy rekeying feature so I could match all my keys again. So far I am very happy with the lock. This lock has already outlasted the Halo and I’ve only had it a month. Even though this lock is not Wi-Fi compatible, it has the 30 second lock function for peace of mind. The keypad has functioned well so far too.Save your money and purchase this over the halo. Also just know if you get a lemon Kwikset will not help you out. If you get a lemon it isn’t the end of the world, you’ll just have a very expensive standard deadbolt as I did for just about a year.

This works well but I have to tap the crap out of it (probably 3-5 hard taps) before it kicks on to enter your code. Be sure to also check your door to make sure you don't have to pull on it or push for the lock to go all the way in. Doors that are off a little will have an issue unless you're adjusting the door as it locks every time. But, the nice thing about this is that it locks without you after 30 seconds, so it's nice if you don't have to worry about pulling or pushing the door to get it to safely lock.I do like the fact that it gives you two fake numbers to push before your code so that your fingerprints are all over the keypad, not just on the numbers you use.

Nice, Attractive unit. One caution: IF the outer door u install this unit in is in Hot sun 3 or 4 hours a day, the surface of the touch screen will get a lot of spider web cracks from the heat after a few months. The touch screen and lock will still work but the assembly won’t be as attractive

Unit allows 4 to 8 digit entry numbers was glad to find that. I do not allow 4 digit codes, too easy to crack. System does by default have delay (10 seconds) from activating keypad to entering a passcode. This can be disabled with 1 of 4 dip switches inside the unit. Unit also ships with auto locking feature disabled. This was my entire reason for getting the unit, so I enabled with 1 of 4 dip switches. I have 5 adults in my home. They all love the auto lock and even better, no key needed for re-entry. Unit supports smartlock too. I have all outside locks keyed the same. 1 key to carry for other locks. This one, no key needed.

I like this lock. I like the single digit buttons rather than 2 numbers on the same button. I like the safety feature of the finger print. I was locked out of my house a couple months ago when the electricity went out due to a storm. I usually open the garage door and park in the garage, but if the electricity is out that doesn't happen. My key would not open the front door since I never access the entrance that way. I was locked out. This is safe, secure, and easy to access. My house sitter for my pets has her code as does my best friend when she comes to visit. I may not be home when they come. Or, what if I were incapacitated? It's a safety issue. Love the lock.

My biggest concern here was about the fingerprints left (security concern) and the touch pad sensitivity (quality concern). Both were completely satisfied! To activate the pad (it stays dark when off), you have to touch it with three fingers. Then two random numbers come up and you touch those. Then you enter your code. My husband and I have separate codes to add to the numbers being tapped. The fingerprints don't even show distinctly, and it all just blends together so no one can guess your code. It's also been extremely responsive with the taps. There's been no double tapping and wondering if I hit the button right. So happy to be keyless.

Quality product that is easy to install. Smart choice if you are updating your door locks. Very easy to rekey. The last lock that you'll need to buy. Battery lock will depend on the number of times you lock and unlock the door. Batteries for me last 3 to 4 weeks with the door being locked/unlocked on the average 4 to 6 times a day.

The lock is attractive and stylish in addition to being an upgrade to a regular key lock. Also like the Smartkey feature. Took a little time to install but it was worth it and works nicely. Easy to program.
