Good sound, medium reception, satisfactory batteries
The first time I used my new DS970s "for real" was yesterday, while studying at the library. The sound was good (I'm no crazy audiophile, but I listen to enough music to know bad sound), but the reception was a bit choppy at times. Even though it was less than 20cm from my phone (SE G900), when I wrapped my fist around the DS970, the music stopped. However, I think that may be my phone's weak BT signal, and not the headphones' fault.I also used it to make calls (No complaints there!) and to listen to music from my PC. The sound from the PC was great (I'm even considering using them as headphones for watching movies regularly), and there was no noticeable sound lag when watching videos.Battery time was good, IMHO. While I was studying, it lasted for about 5 hours of music. The one thing that might be annoying is that if you want to use it as a headset for anything other than your phone (i.e. Using it with Skype or something), you need to pair it every time you make the switch. I wish SE would make it possible to pair its Headset profile with multiple devices (You can use it as the phone's headset while listening to music from the computer. That is not a problem). Also, if you're multilingual, note that the screen probably won't display any non-English letters. It doesn't show any Hebrew letters. That's too bad, because it's probably an easy fix for SE.All in all, I feel it's worth the price.

Needs to be re-designed...big time!
Ok, straight to the point:I use this bluetooth set with my sony ericsson i500S and:Pros:1. The stereo sound is amazing, but it can not be changed to anything else.2. Nice small screen that displays song playing and who is calling.3. Ear pieces do stay in ears very well and comfortably.Cons:1. When used as a hands-free set the sound (your voice) that goes out is horrible. People I talk to using this piece complaint that they have hard time hearing me. Believe me, it has nothing to do with the reception.2. While listening to music and a call comes in you hear a horrible beeping sound, which can not be turned off, that's very annoying. Even when you get just a text message while listening to music it rings, which is not as annoying as the beeping, but it is not necessary.3. Battery life is not that great. You only get about 2-3 (straight) hours of music play back.4. The actual piece (where screen and buttons are located) does need a clip so that you can clip it onto your shirt or jacket.5. Way too much money for a bluetooth whose of all features, only one is awesome....the stereo sound. My advise....do your research and find something better.

Not Good Enough
Sound Quality Great, earbud comfort Great, Range Poor, Battery Life Poor, Recharge connector should be standard to be able to charge via car lighter.

Not for everyone but good features.
I used to have Motorolla S9 bluetooth and used it primarily with my HTC Mogul PDA-phone. Comparatively the range of signal on the Motorola bluetooth was 5 times stronger. but when in range the Sony bluetooth had way better sound quality considering the superb headphones. Also I'm not big on the over the neck design when I'm on the bike it constantly keeps hitting my chest and I had to strap it somewhere!PROS:Good sound quality for listening to music, microphone quality is awesome when used for making phone calls. battery power is pretty good. the display is also bright.CONS:using the buttons are kind of hard to figure out sometimes.Sound is weak, almost can not hear when the environment is noisy.the over the head design is good for gym until you are using machines and have put your head down on a bench.Your ears are bound to be in pain after a 1 hour use.

Just okay, not fantastic.
I've had some problems with static off and on when using it with my verizon phone and with my Ipod. It will also cut in and out on me, and or the sound will be garbled at times.

Sony HBH-DS970 okay with the right thing
I really think that this is a pretty decent unit. I love how the earbuds feel and sound. I ride a motorbike and this worked well in that application especially since I could tuck the microphone at the edge of my helmet and still have good accesss to the turbo button. It was a bit difficult to pair at first, but worked great after I succeeded. It worked great for the phone and not so great with my Katana DLX in phone MP3 player (I blame most of that problem on the MP3 player and its Bluetooth interface). Make sure the unit you are pairing this with is as good of quality as the DS970 or you'll be sorry. I tried it with my son's LG Musiq and it sounded a lot better although it still had a few continuity problems.

Could be better
I did like the easy way to connect, not only to pc or to the celular. I wonder if the music quality could be better
