Love this book. Such a new insight to the everyday life of a new Arab Israeli. Without political agenda. Should be required reading for all.

These small jewels written with so much love and frustration and hope that one cannot be moved and impressed with the hope that with understanding and dialogue perhaps peace and respect can be established

The hilarity is all the more stunning because of the growing undercurrent of real and honest pain. Self-deprecasting and wise.

just OK expected a different perspective. Thought it was somewhat self indulgent and privately amusing without broad appeal

Boring

Why didn't Sayed Kashua narrate this audio book himself? I only listened to the sample and the narrator mispronounced "aliyah," making it sound like a girl's name, with the accent mark on the 2nd syllable instead of the final syllable. I just can't buy this book--it would be too irritating to listed to. Sayed, please narrate your books yourself. I love your accent.
