The screws fall out and the sprung-front plate falls off after a day or two
The gun has a lot of punch, which is what one needs in a staple-gun, and it does a good job with no complaint..... EXCEPT the front nose comes apart after using the gun for a short while (one day in my case) and that is a big flunk. Presumably because of the vibration when using it, the three screws just work their way free and the spring-loaded plate separates from the unit... and the gun stops working. Unless you spot the screws coming out -- they quickly get lost in the carpet/underfelt/debris -- that's the end of the staplegun, as the screws are very unusual and not ones you can find replacements for. It is a shame as the gun is otherwise a good item.If you have one of these guns or are buying one, the tip is to apply some sellotape over the top of those three screws as soon as you take it out of the box. That way, when the screws vibrate themselves out, you at least still have them and can screw them back into place. You just need to keep an eye on this and screw them back in every day or two so as to keep on using the staplegun.

Excellent customer service.
This is more a review of the company than the product although, I have had this Tacwise nailer/stapler for just over 12 months and have found it to be a very useful addition to my tool box ,both myself and my wife have had occasion to use it for different DIY and Craft jobs ,and have found the range of staple and nails it takes very handy, that is until one day last month it suddenly stopped working and instead of firing staples it just made a sad whining noise, this is where the Companies review comes in .I contacted Tacwise to see if there was a local repair agent where i might be able to get the stapler repaired as it was ,as is usually the case, just out of warranty. The lady I spoke to on their help desk suggested I return the stapler and they would see if it could be repaired , which I did and low and behold less than 10 days later it was returned, fully operational and at NO cost to myself . Now I don't suggest that items out of warranty should be repaired F.O.C , but Tacwise have done just that and as a result I will certainly be using their products in the future .Great customer service , keep it up and Many Thanks .

Not Fit For Purpose Junk
The Tacwise 191EL is spectacularly useless even for the most simple DIY tasks like stapling a sheet of polythene to a 30mm x 30mm softwood batten. Staples frequently lodge in the orange plastic staple/nail firing tip which unfortunately easily detaches from the unit and ends up attached to whatever you are stapling. It lacks power to drive in staples or brads, even when placing pressure on and ensuring the tip is at 90 degrees. It misfires and it never consistently puts a staple in at the same depth. 1 in 10 sit flush and the rest need hammering in.I’m a retired joiner and I’ve used my fair share of power tools, including nail guns and staplers. But since I’m no longer on site, I no longer have access to a Paslode and only needed something for one job. In fact, Tacwise should be paying me for the damage to the materials this product has caused.I bought this to fix polythene sheets to a timber greenhouse I’m making. This Tacwise product is not even fit for this basic task. Do not waste your money.- Underpowered- Lead way too short (1m)- Jams easily- Overpriced

Nailed it
It does the job I want it to do. My previous one was a Bosch on which you could dial up the strength of strike but it was temperamental and eventually gave up the ghost after 20 years of use. This one is not variable and you have to hold it very firmly against the object which you are stapling or nailing or you will get double or trebkle firing due to recoil. If held firmly it does the business with a minimum of fuss and feels durable

awesome piece of kit - make sure you get a case
Awesome piece of kit - I just keep finding new jobs were I can use it.Takes a little bit of practice to get the nail just where you want it. As it also takes staples it has a 4-5mm slot so it can vary by a small amount.Need to hold the top of the gun or the nail doesn't go all the way in. But a quick tap with a hammer can finish the job if you forget. Also you have to hold the gun straight; you can't put a nail in at an angle - it'll just fly off somewhere (wear goggles).Probably put in a thousand nails now and not one jam. Not sure what other people are doing with it.This loses one star because it didn't come with a case. I only found out afterwards that you can also buy it with the case (could have cried).
