Supercharge your antioxidants!
I, like many others here, had never heard of Amla (gooseberry powder) before until NutritionFacts (dot) org turned me on to it. There is a video there that shows the effect of adding just a teaspoon of amla to a breakfast smoothie, and the results are astounding. Throw in some frozen blueberries for yet even more antioxidant punch, and great flavor to boot. The attached image compares the antioxidant measurements of a blueberry, mango, amla smoothie to a few standard American breakfasts. The scale has to be increased so much to accommodate the smoothie, you can barely even see what it is being compared against. [Image credit: NutritionFacts (dot) org]I am not able to detect any taste or texture change when adding Amla to more normal smoothies (via Vitamix). One of the potential downsides of Amla is the possibility of heavy metal contaminants. Terrasoul claims to have a procedure in place to test for these and filter them out. Although, I don't have plans to take this powder to a lab for analysis, I at least take comfort knowing that Terrasoul at least acknowledges this potential pitfall.

It's high in vitamin C and good for many things
Google all the benefits of this superfood. It's high in vitamin C and good for many things. I take a 1/2 tsp. in a little bit of water in the morning and at night. It has a sour fruitish taste, but I don't really mind it because I drink it in a quick shot. I originally ordered it to mix in with my henna so that it wouldn't be so reddish/orange, but was surprised when I read about all of its amazing benefits when taken internally. It's also great to use in a face mask with honey, or mixed with castor oil or some other oil to put on the scalp and hair as a conditioner. Only know that it could make your hair darker if you use it as a hair mask. It can stain, so wipe it off counters and such right away.

Smells good, nice texture, good amount, kinda expensive.
I bough it for use it as a hair mask, mixing it with water (I've heard it can avoid the gray hair) .After an intense search for an organic Amla powder, I found it and bought this one, for a simple reason: it has analytical tests for heavy metals done by an USA laboratory. This is really important for me, because it is worldly known, products for India and China could have those toxic components during manufacturing.I found another Amla powder with analytical tests but those were done in India, so.. you know. The powder smells really nice, like herbal stuff. I liked it. The color is like I was expected after see the Amla fruit pictures, and the texture is very thin powder. Finally, the reason for 4 stars is basically the price.

Good Product; Good Company
This is the second order I have placed for this product. I have used it both internally (in smoothies) and externally (in my hair) and like the product. I was suffering from hair loss and each time I have used this on my hair I notice that the amount of hair in my comb is far less. I have recently started using it regularly in my smoothies. I cannot taste it's bitterness when I put it in smoothies. I don't think I have been using it long enough internally to be able to say that I have noticed that there is a change in my health (I am pretty healthy anyway) or how I feel. Overall, I have no complaints about the powder. While I have not had to contact the company about anything, I would say from the emails I have received from them that they are concerned with the quality of their product and satisfaction of their customers. Since customer service and quality seem to be lacking in so many products and companies, it is nice to see a company care about their products and customers.

Amla Powder is Fabulous!
This Amla Powder is fabulous! I must say that it taste horrible but, I've learned how to make it more palatable by adding it into my morning Cinnamon Oatmeal along with MSM and a little bit of honey.Or ill add it into my green tea twice a day, add honey and it's not too bad tasting. After doing much research on hypothyroidism and how to combat the dry chicken skin, thin skin, dry hair plus hair thinning and loss, weight gain and high cholesterol and then , being a cancer survivor 4x over, and the damage caused by chemo treatments and radiation, I found Amla Powder!!! I've been using it also in my homemade serums, lotions and hair mask. What a huge difference it has made. My hair is growing in where it was completely gone (when used mixed with African Black Castor Oil, Rosemary Essential Oils, Geranium Essential Oil,Olive Oil and MSM powder. Rubbed into the scalp for 10_20 minutes cover in a plastic hair cap or plastic wrap, and left in hair over night then wash out in the morning) . As for my skin, when mixed into my lotions , body butters and Serums, the changes are very remarkable! It's plumped up my skin, it has a nice healthy glow all over. I don't know yet if it has helped lower my Cholesterol yet, it was 245 on the last blood test, will give an update when I ha e my blood work done again.Anyway, I will be ordering the Amma Power again.

... this product back in October 2016 and it was amazing! A five star product
I first ordered this product back in October 2016 and it was amazing! A five star product! The powder was so finely milled that I was able to make a hair treatment mask which went on as smooth as mousse. I could mix it into my grapefruit juice and it blended in perfectly without leaving behind any grit. When I opened the second bag, which arrived about a week or so ago, I noticed a major downgrade in quality. Specifically, it was very gritty. If I mixed it into my drinks, I felt like I was drinking sand and it would make me gag. If I tried making a hair mask out of it, it would clump up in my hair instead of spreading evenly over the strands. I am so disappointed and so annoyed that I have to get through the entire bag before I can shop for a better brand of amla. So, I am splitting the difference between the five star first bag and the one star (I guess it still has some nutritional value so I can't give it zero stars) second bag.Blergh. Why does everything eventually end up sucking?

Tastes disgusting but works
Drinking this is like drinking mud so I had to get creative. I add this to soda water stir well and add one packet of emergenc. It dilutes the taste a little. I have it on empty stomach and have food after since it makes you so hungry. It has changed my skin texture, I have acne prone skin and I feel like my dark spots are improving. It has also made my hair extra black! Important to note: Amla powder accelerates any kind of flu or sick symptoms you may have. The first few days I took it I was feeling incredibly ill but I read that it should pass within couple days and it did.

It works well on hot flashes
It's very astringent but it works well. Small price to pay given it takes away debilitating hot sweats throughout the day and night.
